That was not good.

I think Michael’s expression at the end said it all.

Michael Usher did not look impressed - seemed to refuse to smile

Melbourne and Brisbane seemed to ignore the segment.

So wait, did Brisbane and Melbourne play it?

Yes - it is playing nationally.

So they played it and had no reaction at all?

So who else thinks that was the last time that happened. :joy:  :face_vomiting:

Wow…truly terrible.

They should have ended the bulletin at 6:56, anchors say ‘stay tuned now for the 6:57pm news’ and then a closer to the news followed by Humphries.

Honestly didn’t find it that bad.
Thought it would be more of a look back at some of the funnier bits of the week.

Is it really that much worse than the likes of the reports by Alan Raskall etc?

Wtf is this

It just focused on one thing (and seemed to maybe have a certain YouTube audience in mind)… not really a “light-hearted look back at the week of news”.

Peter Mitchell (leading-in to the segment) was almost smirking and grimacing at the same time, like saying to the audience “I am sorry, this wasn’t my decision!”

I kinda liked it :man_shrugging:

At least Alan has some warmth and charm. This was a series of lame jokes that didn’t land presented by someone with used car salesman vibes.

For those wondering, the 6:57pm news aired at 6:54pm here in Adelaide.

Introducing the segment Rosanna had a look on her face that said “why do I have to do this”

Then when it came back, both her and Will had looks that said “What did we just watch”. They also let it slipped that Mark is here for 5 months, and if it’s successful, we’ll be stuck with it for four years.

This would be ok on a 24/7 FAST channel or multichannel, but to me the main news bully is a bit sacred.

Although I am the person who watches NBC and ABC News and scream at how long the 2 minute headlines are, but they seem to work, so what would I know. :man_shrugging:

Total trash from Mark Humphries. He seems to be going for an ‘ironic anchorman ‘ delivery and ofcourse reveals his politics at the same time.

He was neither funny or entertaining. Comparing himself to Dr Chris Brown is gross.

Ceglie seems to think he can treat the broadcast like a trashy newspaper with a section for comics and horoscopes.

The switch off factor will be significant. I’m sure he’ll be gone within 6-12 months.

Disgusting.

The idea is ok, but it would be better if it was actually funny. He’s not the right guy obviously.
Sam Pang maybe?

If 7 want to do this sort of thing, launch a 7pm panel/affairs show like The Project.
Horoscopes might even fit into that style of show, maybe…
