Perth opener with Mark Gibson and Adrian Barich on Christmas Eve 2005 and close.
Actually that’s Mark Gibson and Adrian Barich.
Loving all of these. Please keep them coming!
Interestingly most markets didn’t have the alpha channel on the headline supers. You can see the big blue block on the left that in Sydney the transparency of the alpha over the top of the vision actually worked. .
Not mine, and maybe posted before, but here are the limited amount of Adelaide opener’s from 2006.
I’d love to see some more of these from the 7 News Adelaide of this time. Good old days in my opinion…
I think the Story Bridge titlecard came into use later, probably when the Opener was shortened.
Probably like so many other former members, lost interest and has moved on from the forums…
This was aired on Rick Ardon’s 32nd Birthday
Wow that’s a level of detail!
Very interesting set there! I don’t mind it. Reminds me of the 2000 one when Seven Melb moved to BCM.
Also why did Adelaide not have headline supers?
I thought ‘Good Vibrations’ was from 1992?
The news director at the time thought it made the opener look too cluttered with the entire super.
Just having the little ‘7News’ box made it look worse IMO .
Nah, Good Vibrations was used in 1991.
Seven ran the “Yeah!” (or “Only Seven”) campaign in 1992, with the soundtrack based on “Mony, Mony” from Billy Idol.
Rick and Sue presenting the news longer than some of us here on MS.
They moved into new premises when they launched the twisted metal set, so obviously they moved into a smaller studio which limited its set size.
Wow, that brings back memories! I forgot about Carmen Lawrence as premier in WA.
Really?
Perth had the twisted metal set until the move to Osborne Park in 2015. Much preferred that set to the current green screen.
Osborne Park.
