Seven Network - Programs and Schedules

Who has streaming rights for The Simpsons in Australia?

If Seven is serious about making a play in the subscription streaming area with their new 7plus platform then they need to fill out their library a bit and a show like The Simpsons could be a very cost effective way of doing that while also picking up something that would be hugely marketable.

Whoever has the rights isn’t exercising them.

The later and early seasons of The Simpsons are available to stream on Google Play Movies, iTunes, Microsoft Store, and PlayStation if you hand over your $.

With Nine confirming this morning that Family Food Fight will premiere on Monday October 30, no doubt Seven will be targeting that date to launch a brand new line-up.

Foxtel has the live streaming rights via Foxtel Now.

As mentioned , you can buy episodes/seasons online via iTunes etc but it’s never been available via Netflix/Stan etc. Would be massive for whoever can secure those rights to all seasons on demand.

7 pulled 800 Words from 31 October, so I would be expecting a double episode mid-season finale now to air on 24 October, which goes in line with your prediction, etc.

According to Perth’s TV Guide, Sunday Night & Highway Patrol will not show at all next Sunday night when the Telethon Closing show is on; Star Wars: Attack of The Clones is on immediately after it though which I would have suspected. I would have thought they would have still been played on 7Two, Sunday Night at the very least since doesn’t that have to be shown in every market, being Seven’s main flagship current affairs program these days. That’s what I believe they have done in the past on Telethon Sunday. Surely this Sunday Night episode will have to be played in Perth some other time then?

In addition, on the Saturday night at 5:30 PM before the half hour special edition Telethon Seven News there will be a special ‘50 Years with Bankwest’ show that looks back at some of the most fantastic events of Telethon over the last 50 years and will countdown the top five moments of Telethon.

The Chris Tarrent shows would be for SBS, but I’d dare say that the Hiest’s show was picked up by Seven.

I’m not sure a show that disappears for weeks or months at a time and can’t hold a consistent time slot counts as “flagship”

Nonetheless it is still the only national ‘flagship’ current affairs show that Seven has and its changing times have nothing to do with it. I don’t believe it ever disappears for months at a time; weeks yes, months no. In that scenario I take it if you can’t call Sunday Night Seven’s flagship current affairs program, then 60 Minutes is not Nine’s flagship weekend current affairs program either?

Sunday night has always been on 7two during telethon in the past

That’s what I was saying. It’s not scheduled on 7Two in Perth next Sunday though, which is my point, so it’s not going to be shown at all in Perth it would appear.

This is probably the last time “Terminator 2: Judgment Day” (1991) will air on Seven.

Also previously airing on Ten prior to 2009.

Given their exclusive NBCUniversal deal has elapsed.

Nine have a deal with Universal now (have purchased many of their film rights, as seen this year), so I’d expect they’ll be after it.

I’d also be lying if I said I wasn’t watching it right now on 7mate  Such an all time classic, an iconic film in movie history for so many reasons, particularly pop culture and parodies. Couldn’t fault anything about it, other than it’s a sequel (possibly the best ever).

HASTA LA VISTA, BABY!

Update: Apparently T2 is distributed in via StudioCanal, so I am mistaken. Universal just do the home entertainment in Australia

The Monday episode appears to be a one off at this stage with a return to just Wednesdays the following week. Also notice that Monday’s Ep2 runs for 1:15 and Wednesday for 1:30. Ep3 is however just 4:30 longer than ep 3.

Ep 3 of Star Wars relegated to Saturday, disrupting a few scheduling theories.

Why is Star Wars: Revenge of The Sith being played on the Saturday night? Aren’t they all supposed to be playing over consecutive Sunday nights? Is something else like the RLWC on the Sunday night after this so it can’t be played then?

Edit: According to one online guide; the Friday night movie is ‘Knowing’, just so you know @TV.Cynic
