I think I remember the first time Seven did this with any show was either The Voice (which premiered before the Tokyo Olympics Closing Ceremony, after they had poached the franchise from Nine), or one of those shows that failed miserably against that juggernaut on Nine in the early part of the year…

Mr Bates Vs The Post Office: The Impact

A look into the extraordinary effect the four-part series has had on the lives of the subpostmasters it featured, as well as providing an insight into the ongoing struggle for justice and financial redress.
The documentary will feature Jo Hamilton, Jess Uppal, Noel Thomas and leading figure, Alan Bates as well as subpostmasters who have come forward in the aftermath of the drama series. Telling their stories on television for the first time, some say that without the public’s overwhelmingly positive reaction to the drama, they would not have had the courage to talk openly about their involvement in the scandal and how it affected them.
Mr Bates vs The Post Office: The Impact [WT] will also focus on shocking moments from the Judge-led Inquiry: testimony from Paula Vennells, Angela van den Bogerd and Post Office investigators, who were described by subpostmasters as behaving like “mafia gangsters”.
The film will also provide an insight into new developments and layers of intrigue that add further dimensions to a scandal that is still ongoing even following the broadcast of the drama and the subsequent torrent of news coverage.

It should be shown a few hours after its UK broadcast date at least on 7Plus not 6 days. I’d just watch it online through ITV through a VPN like I did for the first documentary. The days if you could ever get away with this treatment is long gone. At least it’s not months like the first documentary.

That is a different program interviewing those who were portrayed in the drama, and was filmed prior to the show going to air.
This new one is a program interviewing the same people about the impact of the drama series on the public response to the scandal, as well as interview those who have come forward since the drama aired, along with insight into new developments that have come to light.

The original ITV series was shown late last year but Seven prempted it to show at the start of this year. I had a mate who was following the ordeal and watched it from ITVs catch up service straight after it aired. You would have to wait a few months for Seven to air it or put it on 7plus. It should not happen, Seven knew the show would rate hence prempting it but people should not have to wait. But waiting 6 days for the 2nd series is better than months but they should not have to wait if Seven were serious. Put it immediately on 7plus and air it 6 days later if you must.

It’s finally made official. I think it was pretty much confirmed or speculated very early. And unlike the OG, won’t be saved by ABC. I think 7 were up to date with it and I hope that they actually air it at a reasonable time and not too delayed
