Similar to how Seven slowly burned off its failed revival of The Mole in 2013 (that season’s format saw eliminations every three or so episodes, instead of weekly, and featured a host that wasn’t too familiar with viewers in Shura Taft). It switched from 7:30pm on three nights a week (as would’ve been the norm with its other reality TV shows) to 9:30pm on Wednesday nights, double episodes, and then 10:30pm.

So the Thursday episode of BB has been brought forward to Wednesday. Could there be a entirely new line-up for Thursday?

It’ll probably end up being moved to 7flix - the channel where Seven’s reality flops go to die without no-one noticing.

They could have done that for The Mole in 2013 and moved it to 7mate instead of having its most loyal viewers (like me) wait until 10:30pm (or, at one point, 11:00pm) for the show to air.

Update - Thursday’s Big Brother replaced by a Seven favourite.

Do contestants still get paid when a show like Big Brother moves off to a multichannel. Assuming they get paid for being on the show.

Is that the 2020s equivalent of Boarder Security?

Of course they are still paid their appearance fee. It makes no difference where it screens. It’s only when a show offers a prize, it is axed and the episodes are not screened anywhere that they miss out on the prize.

As was the case for those number of unaired Weakest Link episodes that were still left when Seven suddenly abandoned the show in 2002.

I remember Cornelia saying “we will be back later in the year” and of course the Seven version never returned.

And the ever popular Changing Rooms on 10. Still waiting for those un-aired final episodes…

There were a lot of Celebrity Name Game episodes which never aired. They showed repeats rather than the new episodes already recorded. I remember that they later decided to screen one unaired episode and it because it featured Neighbours actors for their 35th anniversary celebrations.

Only when it was on Nine, during their golden era of ratings dominance. That of course was before some ex-Nine personnel were hired by Seven to turn their fortunes around in the mid-00s.

Didn’t it get moved to a mid-afternoon slot on Ten? I remember that fate befell The Biggest Loser in 2019, wherein it ended up crowning its winner in that timeslot.

Not repeats already!!

They’re clearly scrambling, their intent was to have new content in that slot but it obviously hasn’t worked out as intended.

We all saw it coming, it’s a shame they didn’t.
