Seven Network - Programs and Schedules

Why are they not running The Latest off the back of The Front Bar at 10.00pm on Wednesdays?

I think they’ll be re-programming this tiemslot once again next week…

Yet another timeslot that’ll probably be re-programmed next week also…

This will surely be a misfire, not to mention the day of the week. Viewers will associate it more with some mid-week and 7mate blokey show and doesn’t help its sandwiched between a Border filler and movie re-run, rather than a lead-out from a top rater like Seven News. Also doesn’t seem like a usual weekend/Saturday evening genre. I reckon some lame attempt to combat Space Invaders (not that this season is doing particularly well anyway) and get an even 8:30pm movie start with Nine, maybe they also think/hope it’ll do at least 300-400k than the usual sub-300k movie, but like I’ve hinted here can’t even see that, at least in aedt/summer and away from AFL.

Hello Anyone cares?

Maybe the only thing left for them is double Home and Away which is at least somewhat stable.

The prospects for an All Sports Front Bar have taken a bit of a hit as well. Perhaps it might do better now that is starting after MAFS finishes. Not even the key demos look good - on Wednesday beaten by Nine Late News. The NRL markets just don’t get it - in total people it was 30th in Sydney and 40th in Brisbane.

Could Seven have done a switcheroo by moving Code 1 to Thursday nights? So that triple Home and Away on Wednesday nights, and a single episode on Thursday nights, followed by Code 1 at 7.30pm?

I keep saying H&A for an hour Wednesdays and Thursdays 7.30

As mentioned before I’m guessing the Saturday 7pm TBA will be a We Interrupt This Broadcast encore.

Ugh!

Will they just play out the remaining two eps or pull them, considering last night’s bad performance (beaten by its lead-out movie re-run The Equalizer 2) and this timeslot is even later, will surely do even worse, let alone if Cynic is correct and there’s an encore before it, also making that night’s movie even later. Looks like Seven have given up on Saturdays now too, save for the AFL’s return.

DOA, what a shame.

I will watch the 7pm Saturday encore given the premiere clashes with Australian Survivor.

Radical idea, why didn’t they just try it as a Saturday first run, for something different? Drop Border and run it with the news lead-in at 7pm, light entertainment which suits that evening and an obvious alternative, seems like a potential key demo drawcard as well. Sure, total people mightn’t get what it would earlier in the week, but as everyone’s said this week going up against severe competition it’ll be dead and buried, especially if they don’t want to try Wednesday around The Front Bar.

But doubtful as it seems the networks just don’t take Saturday seriously at all now, been that way since Funniest Home Videos got the chop, just a dumping ground for fillers, movie re-runs and encores. The ABC being the exception and are often rewarded during the year and to 10’s credit them too at least they try, but sadly to no avail.

Another write-off.

In the new AFL deal (2025-2031), there isn’t any 7 produced Saturday night games until round 15. So they will need figure out Saturday’s without AFL

That’s a good point, maybe they’ll bring back a “The Latest Seven News” to go against ACA and a local lifestyle show to combat Space Invaders? At times during the 2000s they did some comedy specials on Saturday evenings, they could also try dramas such as the ABC have had success with (though that’s British and of course ad-free).

However, this really only affects Melbourne, although an major market, assuming plenty of Swans/Giants/Lions/Suns games are scheduled on Saturday and main channel in Sydney and Brisbane going forward, especially to maximise the $4.5b and for exposure/promotion, considering Saturdays’ low and only getting lower audiences anyway.

They had Allan Langer on last week which was a good one. If that doesn’t get them interested, then nothing will.

Hey hey it’s Saturday… :face_with_hand_over_mouth::rofl::joy: (joking) but wouldn’t surprise me with seven.

Why don’t they get NRL stars on?
