Overnight? Who’s watching then anyway? Is it just a normal broadcast?

It is a normal broadcast and includes games, and performances from local artists and groups who otherwise won’t get a chance to appear in the primetime Telethon telecast.

So they will at 2am? Seems like a waste of money to me.

Those people who usually watch Rage on a Saturday night, now can watch music acts on Seven and donate to a worthy cause too? Those wanting to watch Home Shopping may be disappointed though…

Sorry I should have explained it clearer. Telethon’s primetime sessions on Saturday and Sunday are usually reserved for performers with higher profiles. The artists who take part in the overnight session are relatively unknown (at least to the rest of WA) and for many of them, this will be the first time they get to perform on live TV.

Agreed 100%.

They’ve done it every year with exception to last year (IIRC), don’t know why there’s carry on like they’ve never done it before. It’s part of the concept of a Telethon…

It’s great that they deliver an all day experience for the people of Perth. Kerry will go down as one of the state’s biggest supporters. It is no wonder they are so loyal to Seven over there, also with daily local news, Flashpoint and WAFL to boot.

Really feels like we’ve commenced the rapid descent into “non-ratings”

Sounds about as appealing as triple Bull

At least it’s only 30 minute episodes

I think Big Brother VIP will be shown on Sunday-Wednesday nights in November, so there will be no need for Highway Patrol again until summer non-ratings.

That line up is worse than 10s in many respects. And 10s is woeful at best.

Schedule Update:

Grace

Sunday 24 and 31 October at 8:30 pm

Detective Superintendent Roy Grace has been a dedicated police officer for many years, yet recently he finds his career in serious jeopardy. Struggling not only with the unsolved disappearance of his beloved wife Sandy six years earlier but also with recent damage to his reputation as a result of his unorthodox policing methods, Grace is warned by his superiors that he is on very thin ice. Surrounded by cold case files which are a constant reminder of his own lack of closure, Grace is struggling to move on despite his best efforts to.

A visit from old friend and colleague Detective Sergeant Glenn Branson, who is determined to pull Roy Grace back into the land of the living, soon finds Grace drawn into two investigations which test his abilities and instincts to breaking point. He and Branson, together with colleagues Emma Jane Boutwood, Bella Moy and Nick Nicholl must put together the pieces, first to solve the disappearance of a groom who has vanished without a trace on his stag night just days before his wedding and then to investigate two sinister deaths, which Grace believes to be the work of a twisted serial killer using the South coast as a hunting ground.

With his actions under scrutiny in the press at every turn and his professional standing on a knife’s edge, each case starts to take its toll on Grace who must rely on his instincts and dogged pursuit of the truth. When he is put under pressure by superiors to leave his Brighton home and take up a post in a neighbouring Constabulary, Grace wrestles with whether he is prepared to let go of the home and past he shared with Sandy once and for all.

As the second investigation puts the life of one of their own in serious peril, the team is pushed to the brink in a race against time before more innocent lives are lost. It soon becomes apparent, however, that whoever is behind these deaths, it has never just been about murder, it’s for entertainment.

Fantasy Island

Coming Soon

A modern drama series, FANTASY ISLAND takes place at a luxury resort, where any fantasy requested by guests is fulfilled, although they rarely turn out as expected. Elena Roarke (Roselyn Sanchez) is a descendant of the iconic Mr. Roarke and the steward of this mysterious island. Pilot Javier (John Gabriel Rodriquez) is the head of island transportation and a jack of all trades.

In the series opener, Roarke welcomes a local morning show host Christine Collins (Bellamy Young) who has a simple fantasy. She wants to eat. And eat. And eat. But when Christine gets to Fantasy Island, she’ll realize that she’s hungry for much more than food. Roarke’s other guests include Ruby Akuda (Kiara Barnes) who arrives on Fantasy Island with her husband; Ruby is afflicted with a terminal illness and is given a new lease on life.
