Why on earth are Seven reducing the Adelaide news to 45 minutes (as they have done frequently, recently) again tonight?
Haven’t they seen that Nine are slowly closing in on them in the news ratings?
The first 15 minutes of AFLW coverage is scheduled on 7mate in South Australia (6:30pm-6:45pm), so couldn’t they just either put the first 30 minutes (6:30pm-7:00pm) on 7mate to allow the news to run full, or just move the entire game to 7mate?
That’s just pre-match waffle. The actual game starts at 7.15pm (6.45pm SA time) hence the broadcast start time. 6.45 is essentially when the sport report would normally air on the news anyway, the only viewers potentially put out would be who specifically tune in around 6.50 for the weather.
Ooh, fascinating, so main channel treatment this year. Will be interesting to see if it picks up any extra viewers. Seem to recall back when Nine used to air (particularly before multi-channel days) it didn’t seem to rate?
Luckily for Seven, still summer non-ratings I guess.

Channel Seven again doing this in Brisbane - BBL Coming Up tonight at 7 pm AEDT on 7Mate as seen at 6:50pm local time - ie 50 minutes after the start of the coverage
May as well rename the network “SEVEN SYDNEY” given how Sydney centric it seems to have become, from what you mentioned with giving false information to Queenslanders, to having Sydney hosts on your breakfast program commenting on Queensland’s borders…
Isn’t it somewhat ironic that Seven has recently been accused of being too Sydney-centric? Because if the ratings are anything to go by, Sydneysiders have generally preferred to watch Nine Network programs for several years now!
