Seven Network - Programs and Schedules

I thought Seven were the highest-rating late night network, if you exclude AFL and movies, they have a lot of first-run shows on all channels at 10pm, 11pm, etc.

Something Nine and Ten seem to avoid.

As a certain washed up tv producer keeps saying on a certain podcast "depth of programming* [is key to Seven’s wins]

This looks dreadful. Utterly dreadful.

Uh huh. Utterly reeks of something that boomers wrote in the hope of appealing to what they believe a millennial audience would like.

Completely agree. When you look at that schedule you wouldn’t know they were the number 1 network in the country. For me personally Seven has had the most boring schedule with very few watchable shows for the last couple of years.

@TV.Cynic Have the AFL Semi Final times been confirmed for this week? In particular will the GWS game be on the main channel in Sydney on Saturday night?

10:30 PM Movie: Killer Elite (2011)

Rest of schedule

Why is movie Killer Elite listed for both this Friday and Saturday in Melbourne?

There is a small possibility that the AFL preliminary final will be played in the afternoon in Perth (West Coast home game), therefore The Kick will be shown at 3.30pm or 4pm AEST.

EDIT 11/9: the AFL announced today West Coast’s preliminary final would start at 3.20pm AEST, therefore all states should have the same line up at night (Night at the Museum: Secret of the Tomb followed by Thor: The Dark World).

The 1 thing I do like about the 7 schedule at the moment is variety… that is in choice, every night at 7:30 something different, just like in the old days when people watched TV:grimacing::stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

I agree, the variety is nice but perhaps the failure is proof 7.30-8.30 must be reserved from stripped, multi-night competition program.

must seems to have become the norm the past 15 or so years, but it shouldn’t have been, it’s just what rates massive.

What’s the point in having variety if most of the programming is crap?

Well ideally is shouldn’t be crap, I get it needs to be economically viable, but over time they need to stay relevant somehow.
I am 50 and have recently found a lot of content on YouTube of interest taking me away from TV, just like the under 20’s who wouldn’t even know how to find stations on a TV anymore

Increased competition was always going to lead to audience fragmentation. People never had computer screens 20 years ago, let alone mobile phones and smart devices.

People had computer screens.

Sure, but if you compare what you could do on a computer back then, compared to today, it is worlds apart.
