Maybe that’s why the show’s flailing overall. Too much!
Imagine if Nine had 3 hours of Tipping Point in a day…

Probably more because of Tipping Point than that.
They aired I think two or three episodes of Psych then for whatever reason thought more of the same was better instead. I don’t understand it either…
2pm was Beat The Chasers UK for a few weeks.
I think they did the same for sometime after The Daily Edition was axed.
Were the ratings higher/lower/much the same whilst this was on? If higher Seven would be wishing more of this series existed
I take it these are the re-packaged Foxtel ones but presented by Matt Doran from a handful of years ago, that Seven were airing as first runs?
In almost the same timeslot where Border Security (Aust) aired all those years ago… 20 years ago? Pretty sure it was 9.30 Thursdays.
Does anyone have any ideas for 7’s daytime schedule?
I was younger when it was on, but always liked Daily Edition.
Bring back Heelers re-runs, Moonlighting and MAS*H
Could they just go The Afternoon show? As an extension of the Morning Show?
I always saw The Daily Edition as an “unofficial” extension of the Morning Show, as both shows pretty much had a similar (if not the same) format. The obvious difference was that TDE only ran for one hour (previously 90 minutes) and, in its early days, was pre-recorded.
I reckon if TDE still existed today, they would’ve used graphics sets similar to TMS.
I do remember Seven airing drama repeats at 2pm - like Blue Heelers, All Saints, and Rafferty’s Rules. And enjoyed them. But I can’t see that happening on the main channel (7two though… yes please).
Beat the Chasers run is to end soon. Seven will probably air the likes of Border Patrol, Kochie’s Business Show, that Wellness show etc.
If 10 can air endless cooking shows during the day, and have done so for decades (thanks for sponsorship), could that be an option for Seven for the 2pm hour?
I also remember during the Autumn 2007 school holidays they re-ran The Mole in Paradise at 2:00pm on weekdays for that two-week period.
I remember my sister getting very much into Passions and I remember it being on Seven in the afternoon they could always bring back reruns of it. It is a old show stopped back in 2009.
I know this began in 2001, and was unsure of the year they stopped airing it until you brought it up.
That would be followed by The Big Arvo, which would be axed in 2005 in favour of either Go Go Stop (hosted by Jesse Tobin - now James Tobin) or It’s Academic (hosted by Simon Reeve).
But by 2012, most (if not all) afternoon kids programming would disappear from the schedule in favour of The Daily Edition, The Chase and the National afternoon news (later localised).
I feel these were more successful and memorable, perhaps coinciding in a good era for the network.
All these out of regulatory requirements though in previous TV Codes, for children’s TV and former “P” and “C” classification zones.
Just curious what is he’s actual name Jesse or James?
Update to Sunday 12 May
Melbourne
02:00 PM VFL Rnd 7: Richmond v Footscray
James, though he was known as Jesse during his Big Arvo and Go Go Stop days. Think he switched to James when he first began on Weekend Sunrise circa 2007.
