Seven Network - Programs and Schedules (2015-Apr 2025)

Yeah. Late News is viewed as a switch off point for evening viewing in most countries.

Except the United States, where the network late night talk shows, currently hosted by Kimmel, Fallon and Colbert air at 11.35pm.

It would be great to see an Australian network attempt a post-late news talk show 4 or 5 nights a week. Sadly its not economically viable in the current climate

I think social media has taken away any urgency to watch a talk show like that. These days if you wanna see a celebrity, they are there at your fingertips promoting and opinionating whatever on the go.
Even something like The Project, If they had someone on you liked but missed the early edition, you dont need to wait until 10:30/11pm or even stream the whole episode, the show is literally broken down into segments on social media, so you can just watch the 5 mins you need.

Off topic, but when did Ten stop encoring The 7pm Project late at night? I recall they used to replay it around 11pm or midnight before Letterman still by 2011 or 2012. I remember watching one of these late nights when they went up to the Gold Coast for a week to host the show, coming out of a high rise.

That’s all good, and I know you’ve explained that to me before Aaron, but they’ve lost this loyal viewer who desperately wants to watch The Latest, but it’s continually on too late, or in this case, following a show I don’t want to watch, so I’ll just switch off and get an extra hours sleep.
And I won’t watch either Border or The Latest.
Clearly I’m the exception according to the networks research.

The 7PM Project ended, like, a decade ago. But they still air The Project every night. This week, it’s airing at 11pm, straight after 10’s Late News.

I can’t see it working here, the audiences just arent there to justify it - viewer inertia seems to be keeping the American late-night talk shows going, I wouldn’t be surprised if the current crop of hosts aren’t replaced and the shows are ended as they choose to move on

It’s exactly what they did with the CBS Late Late Show last year after Corden left. Now the timeslot’s home to a (much cheaper I assume) comedian game show.

Exactly the same as 20 years ago with Nightline usually airing at 11.30pm or midnight. As soon as the newscast finishes, people switch off, so they run it later to delay that and bump up the share.

Well 7 need to be at least competitive and air The Latear consistently at 10.30.
If 10 and 9 are scheduling their bulletins at that time, and if the data is correct and viewers turn off after the late news, they won’t stay around to watch 7 when they can see the news half an hour earlier elsewhere.

Wonder why they couldn’t air this at 5:30pm on Saturday instead of Border Security repeats.

The Marlow Murder Club - Episode 2

Tuesday 7 May 9:00 pm

After recruiting vicar’s wife Becks and local dog-walker Suzie to the investigation, the trio uncover key evidence that leads to a shocking revelation.

LONG: When local dog walker and empty-nester Suzie Harris becomes personally involved in the case, she and her beloved German Shepherd dog Luna join Judith’s investigation. Meanwhile Becks uses her social skills and Marlow connections to uncover Stefan’s shady past, and finds herself enjoying being a part of the investigation more than anything she’s done in years. Becks decides to join Judith and Suzie, and the trio carry out a diversion at the local auction house to follow a trail of clues left by the murder weapon - an antique gun! Suspecting an eccentric local weapons collector with an alarming secret, the group pay him a visit but their questioning proves inconclusive. Judith puts herself in danger when she tries to make a citizen’s arrest during a suspicious local break-in, but her intervention leads Becks to discover a possible motive, and the police to find new forensic evidence to test.

Despite Tanika’s continued warnings to stay away from the case, Judith, Becks and Suzie continue to investigate, following the trail of a key clue that has baffled the police. Judith spots a pattern in the evidence and, with help from the friendly local magnet fishers, the trio uncover new evidence at the crime scene that leads them to a breakthrough, and a chilling discovery – they have a serial killer on their hands! Can the team stop the murderer before they strike again?

Seven choosing not to reveal the Farmer Wants a Wife schedule for next week with 3 TBAs. Perhaps they will slip the launch of Dream Home into one of the nights.

That’s this week’s Thursday night game. Gold Coast v Geelong is the correct one as noted for other cities.
Also, Carlton will play Sydney on the Friday night in Round 10.

Thanks; corrected.

This TBA is Farmer Wants A Wife, including “first look” at Dancing With The Stars. See promo in the DWTS thread.
