DST would be a factor too I guess. Someone needs to find the link (if there is one) of the HD streams for Melbourne, Brisbane, Adelaide and Perth

They should use Ayr near Townsville as a test bed and see what angry responses they get before rolling Seven HD out to the rest of the country.

It probably is that simple now.
The main channel was in HD once upon a time albeit in MPEG2
