Due to intermittent rain in Adelaide, Telecast finished at 9:43pm (AEDT).
Next weekend’s WBBL finals will all be held at Allan Border Field in Brisbane. Defending champions Brisbane Heat earned the right to host the finals festival after finishing atop the WBBL|05 table on net run rate. The finals schedule is:
Saturday, 7 December
First semi-final: Strikers v Scorchers, Saturday 10.10am (11.10am AEDT)
Second semi-final: Heat v Renegades, Saturday 1.50pm (2.50pm AEDT)
Sunday, 8 December
Final: SF1 v SF2, Sunday 1.40pm (2.40pm AEDT)
UPDATE 2/12: All three matches will be shown live on 7mate due to the network’s coverage of Australian Open golf from Sydney on the same weekend.
Having all three finals in Brisbane mean the Strikers and the Scorchers won’t have to travel straight after their semi-final, although the Strikers will lose home ground advantage.
Alison Mitchell hasn’t commentated today on Seven. Tim Lane has done two shifts this afternoon, with James Brayshaw doing the middle period.
Edit: Brayshaw is on again for another period, they must be doing 30 minute shifts today.
And M. Slater was only on the coverage for the first two days.
Which would be music to the ears of a few here.
Tim Lane has been a good commentator
Definitely good for the core 25-54 audience, and oldies, who’d remember his ABC days quite well (and footy on 10 for a decade and his ABC Sydney 2000s calls including Cathy Freemab).
But I’ve seen the odd comment or two online from younger folk saying they don’t like him “too old” or “boring” (I personally disagree but each to their own)
She is on now. Might have slept in?
Just found out here at the Oval that she had a migraine and actually was sleeping.
Correct, doing a stint on the wireless now.
Today’s cricket telecast finished at 8.10pm AEDT after Australia won the test match by an innings and 48 runs.
What happens if Mitchell and Lane call in sick? Does Brayshaw have to commentate every shift?
I thought Barham is gone so why are still persisting with this lead commentator garbage? Why can’t Ponting, Ramiz and McGrath commentate together?
WBBL final in SD on 7mate due to golf. 7mateHD can’t come anytime sooner

Instead of having just the first 10 minutes of BBL on 7mate Adelaide, Seven should just cut the news to 30 minutes and start the BBL right at 6.30pm.
Coverage of WBBL final on 7mate finished at 6.10pm AEDT as post-match presentation went overtime.
That is why I was thinking Johnson. Back when 10 previously had the BBL rights, Adelaide had The Project show for 40 minutes before starting the game at 7:10PM (Local Time) [This was where Adelaide missed out first 10 mins of BBL].
Another scenario is if Seven News Adelaide persisted with a 1 hour bulletin, this will mean that they will have the first 30 mins on 7mate before switching to 7HD.

1:30 pm Sport Special: Bring The Heat
With the Cricket season in full swing we spend time with the men and women of Queensland’s Big Bash team, the Brisbane Heat.
I live in WA, so I have to get up early to watch, yes now Day Night Tests and more of them means more sleep ins.
Erin’s first match as boundary reporter is Melbourne Renegades v Sydney Thunder at GMHBA Stadium in Geelong on December 19, according to the Herald Sun.
It may not matter as much to what the FTA telecaster wants given Fox are the lead/host for international matches. Plus with attendances not as good as it anticipated (poor crowds D3 and 4 in Adelaide, perhaps DN tests could be exclusively midweek to suit) and people moving away from the traditional working day that this format is trying to cater for, perhaps this is not the savior that has been trumpted. I know I probably wont be able to watch any of D1 tomorrow working 1-10 (and maybe later) and growing numbers of others are in the same boat.
