Seven Cricket Coverage

Sure is, confirmed by Seven. He was overseas recently though, has he not been part of this test so far?

Tomorrow (Saturday) Seven will show the WBBL Melbourne Derby between the Stars and the Renegades from Junction Oval (play starts at 10.40am AEDT) before day two of the cricket test from Adelaide Oval. However, with rain forecast for Adelaide for most of the test match, there is a chance that play will start early to make up for lost time. What if the test match overlaps with the closing overs of the WBBL?

During the rain delay they replayed a documentary from last night.

It will go to 7mate.

Thanks for clarifying that

Due to extended play caused by rain delay, telecast ended at 11:07PM (AEDT).

Play on Saturday will start early at 2pm AEDT due to today’s rain delay. Which means as soon as the WBBL finishes (provided there is no rain in Melbourne), Seven will immediately cross to Adelaide for the test coverage. Note that the whole WBBL match will air on 7mate in WA due to three hour time difference.

Once again missed the start of the WBBL because it was advertised as AEDT and not Qld time. I know it says AEDT in the ads but that’s not what you take notice of, it’s the time, that’s what sticks in your brain.
It’s confusing enough with all the channel swapping etc etc that goes on with the cricket, why not make it easy for your Qld viewers?
Do SA and WA also get ads in AEDT?

Surly on a Saturday night Seven could have stayed with the cricket in HD instead of flicking the cricket to 7mate.

Record breaking knock and a 40min break at 6:30ade time. Makes no sense to have a 40min dinner break, which is a perfect time to show the news.

Not at all. The reason Seven broadcast sport is so they can shove their news service down our throats. All FTA networks interrupt sporting coverage for news. It’ll never change. Switch to Fox if you don’t want to deal with this.

Ten didn’t interrupt its Oaks Day coverage by going to the news with news on 10 Bold

10 aren’t committed to news like 7 and 9 are though.

Looks like it will be another short test match. This is one of the key reasons Nine was so keen to swap summer cricket for tennis. So many days of bad weather and short games. So much programming that was lost to advertising. If every test finishes on average 1 day short that’s 20% of the programming lost where adverts can be sold.

This won’t be a problem when 7Mate goes HD.

No it won’t. But the dinner break for 40mins is when they should swap for news. And the cricket goes to 7mate.

It was Fleming at a tea party, really we want to see that in HD?

For the test match if you are watching in Perth, they should delay the news or put the full test on 7mate and make Channel 70 “7mate HD”

Or another option, put 7mate in HD on On Channel 71. This will get rid of the SD simulcast of Channel 7. I think it’s about time to have 2 HD channels in one network.

Who are the female commentators on Seven’s coverage?

A few unfamiliar and seem to be new this year.
