In this case the turnaround from a night game the night before in Hobart made it impossible to make a 9:30 game in Melbourne.
This has gone from 7cricket last summer to Fox cricket this summer. They also did some 7AFL stuff with Sunday footy feast too
David Lloyd is apparently going to be part of the Channel 7 and Triple M coverage for the Brisbane and Adelaide Tests (https://www.telegraph.co.uk/cricket/2025/10/19/david-lloyd-bumble-interview-sky-cancellation-england/)
he will be in Australia for the Ashes, working for both Channel Seven and Triple M Radio in Brisbane and Adelaide.
Upfronts
The 2025-26 Summer of Cricket on Seven and 7plus Sport is shaping up to be one of the biggest and best yet. Headlined by the ultimate rivalry in world sport – The Ashes, starting in Perth on 21 November – fans can also look forward to another thrilling season of the Big Bash League (from 14 December) and Women’s Big Bash League (from 9 November), along with a multi-format women’s series against India.
With new signing, Stuart Broad, who is fast becoming one of world cricket’s best commentators and analysts, alongside cricket’s #1 commentary team led by the game’s most astute commentator, Ricky Ponting, plus Aaron Finch, Alison Mitchell, Matthew Hayden, Justin Langer and many more, viewers will be treated to world-class commentary all summer long on Seven and 7plus Sport.
Seven’s Summer of Cricket lineup will also feature a strong slate of magazine programs, headlined by Unfiltered, which will make its cricket debut this season with five special cricket-themed episodes. Viewers can also look forward to two The Front Bar cricket specials in November, while James Brayshaw, Ricky Ponting and Aaron Finch will come together for a special Ashes Preview Show in November.
Rounding out Seven’s cricket magazine offering, The Spin returns for its eighth season, continuing to deliver sharp insights, fun features and behind-the-scenes access from across the Summer of Cricket.
Earlier this month, Cricket Australia launched the FAST channel Cricket Gold on 7plus Sport, featuring some of the game’s greatest matches and most iconic players.
The Women’s International summer sees Australia face India across all formats, with T20s from 15 to 21 February, ODIs from 24 February to 1 March, and a Test match from 6 to 9 March.
The action doesn’t stop there: in 2026, Australia will host Bangladesh for a two-Test series, with venues and dates to be confirmed.
Sevens Summer of Cricket looks pale compared to what Nine used to do
The series will now have more spice (no pun intended) with India mounting a record run chase in women’s ODI to beat Australia in the ICC World Cup semi-final last night.
Added to the schedule just before the season opener of the Women’s Big Bash League

Both Sydney clubs’ reps? Is it just a Sydney BBL team coverage launch?
Bumble officially announced on 7news.
I assume 7 will announce the full lineup tmr
Could we also get the broadcast schedule by any chance?
I mean, it’s pretty reasonable to expect the first Test to be on main channel in Perth. The other markets may vary (because news).
ESPNcricinfo already has a rough timing breakdown.
| Perth | Brisbane | Adelaide | Syd/Mel | |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Session 1 | 10.30am-12.30pm | 12.30-2.30pm | 1-3pm | 1.30-3.30pm |
| Session 2 | 1.10-3.10pm | 3.10-5.10pm | 3.40-5.40pm | 4.10-6.10pm |
| Session 3 | 3.30-5.30pm | 5.30-7.30pm | 6-8pm | 6.30-8.30pm |
I assume 7 will probably have news as normal with a small but unluckily chance they delay news in AEDT until 6:10 so they show the entire session 2

Seven Network Head of Cricket, Joel Starcevic said: “What better way to kick off an incredible Summer of Cricket than with a fiery start to the WBBL season this Sunday, live and free on Seven and 7plus Sport?”
“Our women’s international cricket team is arguably our most successful sporting team in Australia in recent memory, so to have every member of that team play in the WBBL speaks volumes for how strong this competition is,” he said.
“Broadcasting every WBBL match live from the stadium, Seven is proud to deliver the very best coverage possible to viewers across the nation. From the very first match at AB Field, through to the Final, we will be there.
“As we count down to another unforgettable summer of cricket – headlined by the fiercest rivalry in world sport between Australia and England, a massive WBBL and BBL season, and a blockbuster multi-format women’s series against India – Seven has once again assembled a world-class commentary team to deliver the soundtrack of summer to all Australians, wherever you are right across the nation,” he said.

“Justin Langer was the man at the helm of the Australian team four years ago in the last Ashes on Australian soil, overseeing a 4-0 Australian triumph. He knows what it takes to lead a team to Ashes glory, and this time around he is with us in the commentary box, sharing his insights into what it takes to thrash the England team in Australia. There is nobody better qualified to be behind the microphone for an Ashes Series.
Seven Network Executive Producer – Cricket, Anna Stone, said: “The Big Bash is summer’s greatest entertainment spectacle – fast, fiery and full of moments you can’t take your eyes off. This season, we’ll bring fans closer than ever to the biggest names and best rivalries in Australian sport, all live and free on Seven and 7plus.

“Our Australian women’s team have just returned from India and will be looking for redemption following the World Cup.
“The series culminates in a Test match, the last women’s Test saw Alana King take a 5fer and Anabel Sutherland become the first woman to score a Test century at the MCG, both adding their names to the honours board. This team continues to pave the way and inspire the next generation of cricket obsessed kids dreaming of one day playing for Australia.
“We are thrilled to welcome back Mitchell Starc and his expertise to Seven’s commentary team, off what is going to be an enormous summer for him and the Australian Men’s cricket team.”

Pretty sure that’s Mel McLaughlin there, isn’t it?
Schedule-wise, 7’s midday news out throughout the week of first Test. Still no clue how it will be divided between Seven and 7mate.
Bring on November 9 when I’ll be disappointed at seeing seven different segments of the coverage again.
Will Trent Copeland get a better-fitting suit this year?
No mention of Erin Holland in the press releases above on Seven’s cricket team. She had been working as a reporter in the past few summers.
