Seven Cricket Coverage

Good timing for Sydney and Melbourne too with the early evening’s (edt) unfolding events at 7pm right after news

Hope Seven have a lot of Highway Patrol and Border Security on the server. They’re going to need them on Sunday.

7mate (WBBL) is showing the Test as well because of rain in Brisbane

Due to rain delay at WBBL, main channel in Sydney and Melbourne is replaying the test series preview with Ricky Ponting that aired last night.

EDIT: Seven’s live WBBL broadcast has begun, with the match reduced to seven overs per side.

Umpire Simon with a new background & not his home office wall (that’s what I assumed). Don’t mind it, it makes him look professional & like he’s actually part of the broadcast (in the truck/BTS) & not at home

I think he is at home still

Yeah but at least they aren’t showing he’s home

I wonder if 7 will ask for 7+ streaming link to be added to the CA app or incorporate 7+ watching through the app (like AFL with the GF)? Currently it only has Kayo

How good is it being able to stream the cricket on 7plus :raised_hands:

Just realised that sometimes 7 uses the first name of players while other times they are using the last name. Don’t know why they aren’t consistent by either using only first name or only last name

E.g

Currently on 7, for batters they have Nitish & Kohli while on Fox they have Reddy & Kohli

Fox vs 7 for Rishabh Pant - different

Fox vs 7 for Washington Sundar - same for both

What for? :sweat_smile::sweat_smile:

In India there are different naming conventions for different villlages/strands. So you’ll see some players with surnames on jerseys and some with ‘first names’.

Agree - usually don’t watch the test cricket, but have had on the TV in my room over the weekend (no aerial, so watched via 7Plus) while I chilled.

Fox had Pant while 7 had Rishabh so that’s a difference. Both had Washington so that makes sense. My issue is the difference between what 7 & Fox has.

Probably could of worded the post a bit better

Yeah - neither is wrong per se but consistency would be good.

I wonder if the executives at Seven might be regretting the pressure they put on CA last year around TV rights.

Australian Cricket could be moments away from generational change, that could see some very ordinary years ahead.

If anyone’s got reason to worry or be particularly stressed by the prospect of change, it’s Fox as they were forced to pay more while giving up exclusive streaming rights. 7 got a good discount on the deal and are in a better position as a result of bullying CA.

The Australian team’s got into a habit of dropping home Tests to India, however, I don’t think any of the other international Test teams are anywhere near good enough to win consistently in Australia.

haha - considering I wrote that when 17 wickets fell in one day - I certainly didn’t expect the wicket to suddenly become a road for the opposing team for the following two days, and a landmine filled pit when the Australians went back out to bat!
