Seven Cricket Coverage

Really pushing the 7+ streaming, especially during the game with the player mic. I guess with them knowing that Fox has their own commentary, 7 can push their 7+ even with this being the world feed given Fox mentions ‘Fox Cricket’ a lot during their matches

I don’t like the boundary replay swipe being in lower case (well apart from the first letter) when everything else wordswise in the in-play graphics package is in capitals

So 7+ Sport is somewhat real.
Just redirects to 7+ however.

When you get there is there something actually called “7 cricket match centre”? I can’t see that. Lots of cricket stuff, but nothing called that.

Yeah currently looks like it just redirects to the general sports landing page on 7+.

Maybe it’ll go live closer to when the WBBL starts next week, Test Series next month etc.

Seven seem to be following 9’s trend of using the app looking icon for 7+ rather than the regular logo variant - though both still in use.

Looks good

Also on 7two in Tasmania and NT.

India test version featured. It has Ponting (at a beach) & Gavaskar (in India I think).

It ended with Ponting saying ‘stop paying’ + Gavaskar saying ‘start watching’ & both saying ‘on 7+’

WBBL | 10 set to smash onto screens

Catch every big hit live on Seven and 7plus Sport

On the eve of its 10th season, the Seven Network’s Women’s Big Bash League (WBBL) commentary team is primed to bring fans an epic five-week long tournament of the world’s best cricket league for women.

With fresh and familiar faces delivering all the action live and free on Seven and for the very first time, 7plus Sport, WBBL | 10 is set for a fiery start this Sunday, 27 October with a thrilling double-header live from Adelaide Oval.

On Sunday afternoon, the Adelaide Strikers will face off against the Brisbane Heat in a WBBL | 09 Final re-match at 1:30pm AEDT, with the action continuing straight after as the Melbourne Renegades take on the Sydney Sixers at 5:00pm AEDT, on 7mate and 7plus Sport.

Returning to Seven’s WBBL commentary lineup will be Lisa Sthalekar, Trent Copeland, Alister Nicholson, Katey Martin, Callum Ferguson, Kirby Short, Emma Freedman, Jason Richardson, Holly Ferling and Andy Maher, while 7NEWS Sport Reporters Anna Hay and Theo Doropoulos also join the team.

In a coup for fans, former Australian cricket team and Perth Scorchers coach, Justin Langer, will join Seven’s WBBL commentary team for one match during the 2024 season. Joining him in his commentary debut will be current Perth Scorchers batsman, Jason Behrendorff, as he adds a fresh player’s perspective to the broadcast and unrivalled insights into the minds of the players on the pitch.

Seven cricket commentator Lisa Sthalekar said: “With a condensed tournament, each WBBL match has increasingly high stakes this season, as teams really can’t afford to drop as many matches.

“While the players are already hungry to win games for their club, they will be even hungrier this year to give themselves a chance to make it into the Aussie squad ahead of a huge summer. That, paired with the fact that Australia fell short at the T20 World Cup, has set us up for one of the fieriest WBBL seasons in history.

“There are so many new names to watch out for this year, but I can’t go past Grace Parsons [Brisbane Heat], who has already impressed selectors and gained an opportunity to represent Australia A recently. She is set for a massive tournament,” she said.

“Then there’s Hayley Silver-Holmes [Hobart Hurricanes] who is back from injury with a full pre-season under her belt and looks dangerous, while both Ella Hayward and Milly Illingworth [Melbourne Renegades] impressed last year and are more than capable of doing it again.

“There’s also something very special about seeing Meg Lanning [Melbourne Stars] out on the pitch again. She will make everyone smile, except the bowlers bowling to her!,” Ms Sthalekar said.

Seven Network Head of Cricket, Joel Starcevic, said: “With an exceptional commentary team calling the game live from stadia across the country all season long, there’s nowhere else to be this summer than right here on Seven and 7plus Sport.

“In an exciting year of growth for the WBBL tournament and Seven alike, our team is primed to deliver one of the most explosive and exciting WBBL seasons ever recorded, headlined by a cavalcade of international and home-grown stars.

“Adding to the international roster this year, fresh off winning a historic T20 World Cup, New Zealand champs Sophie Devine, Amelia Kerr and Suzie Bates will make their return for WBBL | 10, making cricket’s best competition for women even stronger,” he said.

“But it doesn’t stop there. As we get to the pointy end of WBBL | 10, the cricket action continues with the highly anticipated five test series between Australia and India, live and free on Seven and 7plus Sport, from Friday, 22 November.

“The summer of cricket is off to a cracking start on Seven and 7plus and we’re only just getting started.”

Seven’s WBBL coverage continues on Thursday, 31 October, when the Sydney Thunder meet the Hobart Hurricanes at 7:00pm AEDT on 7mate and 7plus.

With wall-to-wall coverage, 7plus Sport is the ultimate destination for WBBL fans. With match replays on-demand, minis, player interviews, exclusive content and more, viewers can tune into the 7plus Cricket Hub for 24/7 cricket content all summer long.

For all the latest WBBL updates, breaking news stories, live scores, and replays, head to the 7news.com.au match centre to stay connected to the action.

New graphics for the WBBL. Should be the same with BBL too

An improvement IMO

Same scorebar being used on FOX Cricket too.

Looks a bit like something from a PlayStation or Xbox game.

That’s because Fox is just taking 7s feed for this and every other non-exclusive WBBL match, including commentary. We’ll know what Fox’s 'board looks like tonight during the Scorchers v Stars match.

Like this from Cricket 22 game, a bit similar

I don’t think we will see a change to Fox graphic until the men’s ODI.

I also find it odd that for the women’s internationals Fox used 7 graphics with their own commentary but not for this.

Also if they are going to be having their graphics & commentary for AFL & AFLW from next year, they should be doing the same for women’s cricket (they do for men’s cricket already)

I think they’ll do it when there’s not 3 games on the same day?
