BBL need to get rid of the stupid “BBL|12” (means nothing to most people) and go with BBL 22/23.

And 7 need to stop this BS of advertising in AEDT in non-AEDT markets. There’s no less promos generated so it’s pointless. No wonder viewer numbers are down, no one knows when it starts. :face_with_diagonal_mouth:

I thought Bishop was only for the WI test matches

wasn’t sure of the correct thread

Noticed that cricket advertisers (Alinta, KFC, Rexona, Dettol, CA, etc and cricket themed) are airing on Channel 7 tonight, such as during Pacific Rim.

‘Make goods’ due to premature end to the last Test? Was meant to be Day 5 Session 3 (aedt) right now.

Nicholson with Ponting, Bishop & Hodge for game 1 of BBL12 on 7

Looks like he is still being utilised as an expert instead of a ball by ball commentator -so far in tonight’s game

Also I think this leaked through to the World Feed - from Sky Sports

during commentary Alistair mentioned ‘7cricket socials’ during commentary. This might be the first time they mentioned themselves (7) during commentary especially on BBL where they are host broadcasters while Fox says ‘Fox cricket’ all the time

And there was Howie every few overs mentioning “our international viewers” :joy:

So silly. Nothing against Nicholson but he might actually give Channel 7’s BBL commentary line-up some pizazz.

Maybe since this was Bishop’s 1st ever BBL game they gave him the backseat and a chance to observe stuff. They emphasised what he liked so far from his 1st game etc.

Maybe from his next game he might be the main caller? - probably wishful thinking

7 calling today from the Melbourne studio, Fox is at the ground

Disappointing effort from the host broadcaster, but we know how much they dislike even being obliged to broadcast it at all

Good to see Will Pucovski on TV. He is again taking an indefinite leave from playing cricket.

Sky sports in NZ had Fox pre game but 7 for the game broadcast.
Sky sports in UK has Fox for the game broadcast

Like 7 had Fox graphic leak through the test before being corrected, the 7 DRS graphics also leaked through to the Fox coverage

A few technical issues on the telecast tonight. The feed keeps dropping out for short periods.

Today JB “welcomed our viewers from South Australia & Queensland” another thing they haven’t done for BBL the previous years

He also mentioned how Siddle dropped by the Ch7 commentary box during the test match.

Also this is not a complaint, just observing that they are adding more ‘7’ to their BBL broadcast which is something they didn’t do before.

I have to wonder if Seven’s heart is really in the BBL coverage. Checking out how many promos for tonight’s game, there was one promo near the start of The Chase at 5pm then nothing after that. There was a mention in sport that the game starts after the news. There were plenty of ads for Home and Away and Australian Idol that start in 2023 and the Aus V SA tests, but nothing for the program that starts at 7pm. Plus no mention that it is on 7Mate at 6pm in any promo; instead just the main channel mentioned with 7:00 PM AEDT.

And of course they aren’t even in Adelaide

This is appalling and one of the reasons for the demise of the BBL. They can’t even be bothered.
