Seven Cricket Coverage

How do you get screencaps when it’s not being steamed?

Was that a new opening slide?

Correct. Goes for about 5 seconds. Big crowd cheer and a tone (if I remember correctly) as the logo reveals.

Holly Ferling and Ellyse Villani won’t be commentating anymore this series. They have left for Tasmania ahead of the WBBL.

Something I wish 7 would do with their scorebug during test matches is showing the number of overs all the time, especially after the 1st innings.

I think it probably because in the test matches they have the small logo and also has the country initials

While in the ODI’s or even the WBBL & BBL they use a large logo without the initials

But it’s virtually meaningless in a test match when overs aren’t used as a limitation like ODI/T20 cricket. Much better uses of screen space.

That’s true, I guess I’m just used to seeing the numbers of overs next to the score like how Fox does it.

But they have the space for it and 7 doesn’t

I wouldn’t be looking at Fox’s monstrosity for any inspiration

Yeah Fox’s is a shocker. Hope it gets a revamp for this summer.

Michael Salter has been axed by the network after Seven chose to not renew his contract due to budget restraints, according to the Herald Sun.

Really disappointed to hear that Seven has axed Slats. Big loss.

One of the last remaining voices on Seven from the days of Nine’s cricket coverage.

Slater

Glad he’s still doing his stuff overseas - it’s where he performs his best.

Imo though he was a big reason 9’s coverage was so on the nose at the end and he never really transitioned to 7’s style.

I could see him ending up at Fox now.

If Seven are looking for someone new, I’d love to see Mark Taylor or Ian Healy join. Or even Mark Nicholas, but it might be a bit hard because he’d have to come from England.

Yeah, I’d love to see him again, but he’s over with SuperSport in South Africa.

Tubby is contracted to Nine still, and Heals has been on Fox before, so I’m not sure what his situation is currently. Both would be great additions.

I think Tubby and Nicco would fit in well but Tubby has definitely stayed on at 9 to be their ‘cricket guy’ and 7 passed on Nicholas because he was too associated with 9 iirc.

Healy though is a huge downgrade on Slater imo and doesn’t make sense if you’re looking to save money.

I have no idea what he’s doing or where he even is but Steve Waugh was good in the UK a couple of years ago and would be where I’d look if I were 7.

In any case the article says they’re looking to promote from within so it may all be moot.

Eh, he was very annoying on Nine and on Seven so glad to see the back of him. Their cricket lineup needs a revamp because some of their personalities are very polarising.

Steve Waugh and Mark Nicholas aren’t bad either but they’re kinda out of reach for Seven. Honestly hoping they’re not considering McLachlan or McLaughlin to be promoted. They’re both sub-par.

As in Hamish? :flushed:
