Seven Cricket Coverage

No, last summer (at least for the last two tests and the BBL) they showed BSI.
They’ve always done BSI for Big Bash (Men’s and Women’s), and for the first summer they did a scorecard for the Tests and Women’s Internationals, plus the BBL Final.

The Shaw Road Precinct, currently the home of Queensland Premier Cricket Club Northern Suburbs, would see the venue upgraded to enable it to host senior men’s Domestic One Day matches, women’s International series games, International A series and Tour matches. It would also deliver increased community access to junior and senior club cricket.

Among the proposed additions to the Kalinga precinct are:

  • A new Pavilion between the Ian Healy Oval and Alan Pettigrew Oval catering for male and female teams,
  • Lighting of the main oval and training areas,
  • Provision of 16 new turf practice nets and wickets,
  • Renovation of the playing surfaces and wicket blocks.

The Allan Border Field precinct would also be redeveloped, including refurbishment of Queensland Cricket’s main building, additional training and playing pitches, a new amenity building, new electronic scoreboard and lighting of Allan Border Field and training areas

The first was during the same feed as Fox, and the second was during the Seven only feed. That’s why there is a difference.

Oh no, Richo is back :man_facepalming:

Kirby Short is also involved at the ground with Erin Holland. Kirby was the former Heat captain who has now retired.

Shit. Well I’m not watching today.

This confirms that Seven are preparing to broadcast the Tests, and from the Melbourne studios.

I think they’ve always had the set ready in Melbourne as they used it for the Cricket trivia show- Stumped?

They also did their rehearsals there I’m pretty sure.

Also last year? when there was the problems with the smoke in Hobart and flights couldn’t get in, the team commentated from there for the BBL Caines game.

According to a promo shown tonight, Amazon Prime documentary The Test will have its FTA premiere on Seven next Sunday (October 4) at 7pm. It’s the same 90-minute highlights version which aired on Fox Cricket on September 16.

So with the Australia v Afghanistan test match being cancelled, it will now leave Seven with only four test matches (down from five) to cover this summer. The upside of the cancellation of the NZ ODI series is that following the end of the Indian Series in early January, the star Australian players will be free to leave the hub and join their BBL teams. This could see Dave Warner finally sign a BBL contract and provide Seven with some reason to remain contracted to cricket

Hope he comes to the Stars, with friend Jonny Bairstow rumoured to sign with them, and him being linked to them last year. What a top three/four that would be (with Marcus Stoinis, Hilton Cartwright and Glenn Maxwell, maybe even Ben Dunk if he shows up)!

No…he needs to return to the Thunder.

Yep agreed

So this is where seven are getting a discount on the coverage price? Due to less games?

Smart by CA, quick drop a test and the exclusive ODI’s and fox and seven won’t need to pay full price cause of less games.

Brad Hodge filling in for Ellyse Villani who will heading into the WBBL hub with the Melbourne Stars.

Brad Hodge just referred to Jason Richardson as the “King of Broadcasting”- oh no…

Julia Price hasn’t been let go from Channel Seven. They just said on the coverage that COVID has prevented her from being part (probably because she is stuck in Tasmania) but will be part of the WBBL coverage.

According to News Corp, Channel 7 today paid $10 million to Cricket Australia (ie; the full amount of what they owed them) in order to safeguard them against any breach of contract claims CA may make against them.

This comes as the parties prepare for an arbitration hearing which could happen as early as next week

So are they terminating or not?
