Seven is promoting it, but there is a lot of noise in Queensland sport on Seven at the moment with the WBBL final also happening on the same weekend.

With the new broadcasting deal, is the AFLW final going to be exclusive to 7/7+? Currently it is not but I think it will be from 2025 as it is mentioned as the only match along with the Men’s GF not having Fox commentary

Interesting that the state leagues are moving to Saturday nights. Surely not on the main channel?

Why not? 7 puts the afternoon games on the main channel and they no longer have any Saturday night AFL games in Victoria until Finals*.
*they might get delayed sat nite games post round 16

Yes, a movie or some other light program has broader appeal than state league footy at 7.30 on a Saturday night.

Has the media been told to use the word ‘history’ as much as possible? Seems every report mentions ‘history making’, ‘in history’ etc., which to me seems a bit strange for a comp that’s only had 9 seasons.
The SANFL would probably get decent ratings in Adelaide when not against local AFL teams. Less so the VFL in Melbourne.

I would imagine that Seven would schedule the SANFL on nights when the Adelaide team’s aren’t playing to enable them to air local team matches (either live or on delay).
