No they wont. They will be watching the AFL. You don’t air the highest rating program on a secondary channel. Even if 9 gained a few viewers from those looking for news at 6pm, there will be a lot more viewers on 7 watching the AFL. And 7 news will still outrate 9 news in that evening.

25 goals kicked through 3 quarters (20 in the first half) in the afternoon AFL game. It could run overtime given the 4th quarter won’t start until 5:30pm and if it goes 30mins+ (very likely given other 3 quarters all went 34mins) then it will impact 7news

The silhouette has been blurred during a live chat with Sam Mac in front of the slide at the MCG during tonight’s Melbourne bulletin. The slider will be revealed during Essendon v Carlton tonight, but expected to be Dr Saunders.
It seems that since Seven took over scheduling of VAST Seven Remote Central & Eastern services, VAST now only airs the AFL matches shown on Seven Melbourne. They have ceased putting one or two Fox-produced games on 7mate each week. Previously when SCA scheduled this, they would pick one or two of the Fox-produced matches airing on FTA in Brisbane and Adelaide and put them on 7mate Central.

According to the schedule published in today’s Herald Sun, Dr Josh Saunders will go down the slide first at 1.37pm AEST. It will not be shown live on TV but may be covered by radio stations doing match previews at the time (3AW, SEN and Triple M).
The 10 celebrities will go down the slide from 2pm AEST onwards.

So far this round, every game that was a 7 production has been a close game with the margin within 1 goal.
