He’s apologized for his comments on SEN. Reportedly, he’ll need to do another apology, this time with Dale Thomas and Luke Hodge for their comments on 7’s “The Agenda Setters” program.

So they didn’t mislead the AFL, yet the game mics picked them up noticing the concussion but continuing the game play anyway? Ok.

The 10th and final slider for Big Freeze 11 has been revealed: Supercars legend Craig Lowndes.

A post was merged into an existing topic: Seven Cricket Coverage

Jason Bennett & Al Nicholson in WA with Ryan Daniel’s and Jobe Watson for this afternoon’s game. I assume 7 will have BT & JB either tonight or tmr - I’m leaning towards tmr because it’s the marquee match. Tonight will probably be Hamish + one of those 2.

Edit: It’s Hamish + BT with Kane & Riewoldt tonight with Bruce being the host with Erin on the boundary

Last night’s ratings once again suggest the Sunday night games aren’t really working, considering two of the biggest and most successful teams, arch-rivals, long weekend and it was a good contest. Sub 500k total nationally (albeit yes excluding Foxtel and Kayo).

Both teams have been in patchy form this year and are expected to miss finals so it wasn’t really a “must see” game. It was good to see Bruce hosting the coverage but I think they should also ask him to call a few of these “marquee” games instead of BT… this might attract a few viewers back from Fox.

For today’s Big Breeze 11, there is a red Seven watermark on the top right, next to the Big Freeze website address.

Last year it was “donate now fightmnd.org.au” next to the icy blue 7.

Tim Watson and Hamish McLachlan hosting the hour long special. Rebecca Maddern is doing the voiceover with BT calling the action.

Looks like Ariarne Titmus will slide down first, based on the order on the whiteboard.

Two good choices, worked well IMO, the iconic “Sandy” (our beloved late ONJ) from Grease and Melbourne FC face Max Gawn, including a cameo from the real one after Cadel’s slide

Hamish having the personality of a cardboard box not really helping this

The Seven Network’s massive King’s Birthday long weekend of AFL scored big with sport fans, with its coverage of five matches from Thursday night to yesterday afternoon reaching 4.6 million people on Seven and 7plus Sport.

The combined audience reach across the five days, which included yesterday’s Collingwood v Melbourne clash at the MCG and the King’s Birthday Eve match between Carlton and Essendon, was up on the same long weekend footy feast in 2024 (6 to 10 June).

Friday’s Adelaide Crows v Brisbane Lions showdown reached 1.84 million people nationally, with a total TV audience of 696,000. Yesterday’s clash between Collingwood and Melbourne reached 1.8 million and had a total TV audience of 830,000 – Seven’s biggest AFL audience so far this year.

The Collingwood v Melbourne blockbuster at the MCG followed Big Freeze 11, with Sunrise’s Matt Shirvington, swimming superstar Ariarne Titmus, Collingwood legend Peter Daicos, cricket great Mark Taylor and others sliding into Australia’s most famous ice bath to raise funds for FightMND.

Neale Daniher’s courage, leadership and unwavering determination to fight against MND moves the nation every year, and we’re proud to help share his message with all Australians.

“Footy fans showed up in big numbers over the long weekend, and the results say it all. When the footy’s on, Australians are turning to Seven and 7plus Sport, reaffirming Seven as of Your Home of Footy.”

Seven’s AFL stars inducted into Australian Football Hall of Fame

Hodge, Pearce, Phillips and Riewoldt receive honours

Four of the Seven Network’s AFL commentators have received the ultimate honour, joining an illustrious group of the game’s greats in the Australian Football Hall of Fame at the annual event last night in Melbourne.

Luke Hodge, Daisy Pearce, Erin Phillips and Nick Riewoldt were all recognised for their contributions to Australian football both on and off the field.

Seven Network Director of Sport, Chris Jones, said: “On behalf of Seven, we congratulate Luke, Daisy, Erin and Nick for their well-deserved inductions into the Australian Football Hall of Fame.

“Few players have commanded as much respect on the field as Luke Hodge. A four-time premiership hero, dual Norm Smith Medallist and one of the greatest leaders of the modern era, Hodgey set the benchmark for toughness, courage and football IQ.

“Since his retirement from the game, Hodgey has remained a mainstay in Seven’s AFL commentary team. His deep understanding of the game, ability to break down big moments, and the respect he carries in the footy world hold him as one of the most respected broadcasters in the game today,” he said.

“From the moment Erin Phillips stepped onto an AFLW field, she redefined what excellence looked like. Her skill, leadership and professionalism set a new standard for the game.

“One of the greatest athletes Australia has ever produced, Erin is fearless in her ambition to succeed. A dual-sport star, three-time premiership player and dual league best and fairest winner, Erin reads the game better than most and now footy fans get the benefit of that every week on Seven’s AFL coverage,” Mr Jones said.

Seven’s Head of AFL and Sport Innovation, Gary O’Keeffe, said: “On the field, Daisy Pearce set the standard. Her knowledge of the game, composure and leadership made her the heartbeat of the Melbourne Football Club and a role model for the entire competition.

“Daisy’s influence on Australian football is profound. Player, captain, mentor, expert commentator and now coach, she’s done it all with class and authenticity.

“She led by example and inspired women and girls across the country to chase their football dreams both on the field and behind the microphone. Few people have done more for the growth and success of women’s football than Daisy. Her impact on and off the field makes her truly deserving of this honour,” he said.

“Nick Riewoldt led with heart and resilience. He wasn’t just a brilliant footballer, he was an inspiring captain who stood tall through triumph and adversity. Following his on-field career, Nick has seamlessly transitioned into a respected football voice. Always sharp, articulate, and honest, his love for the game shines through in every broadcast and he has bolstered Seven’s AFL coverage in 2025.

“Following his induction in 2023, we are thrilled to have had the opportunity to celebrate alongside Nick and his family last night, back on home soil,” Mr O’Keeffe said.
