Finals footy continues on Seven and 7plus Sport
AFL Qualifying and Elimination Finals live and free on Seven and 7plus Sport from this Thursday night
Following a monster week of footy action across the Seven Network with the Four’N Twenty Legends Game for Prostate Cancer and the AFL Wildcard Finals, the AFL Finals action continues this Thursday night, live and free on Seven and 7plus Sport.
Commencing with a sell-out final in Perth in front of a roaring Optus Stadium, flag favourites Fremantle will host Hawthorn in Thursday Night Footy, as Seven’s team calls all the action live from the ground from 7.00pm AEST.
Undefeated at home in 2026 and finishing on top of the ladder, Fremantle will be looking to secure a home Preliminary Final and a week off, while Hawthorn will be hoping to get revenge for the last time these two teams met in Round 9, where Fremantle stormed home with ‘Wharfie Time’ in a memorable win by 15 points.
Seven’s team will be live on the ground at Optus Stadium from 7.00pm AEST, featuring hosts Hamish McLachlan and Rebecca Maddern, joined by Brian Taylor, Luke Hodge, Kane Cornes, Nick Riewoldt and 7NEWS Perth Reporter Ryan Daniels.
Then, following two bumper Wildcard Finals where the Western Bulldogs and Carlton progressed in spectacular fashion, the footy action will return to the iconic MCG as Geelong hosts Carlton in a mouthwatering matchup between two powerhouse Victorian clubs.
Seven’s Friday Night Footy team will once again be live from the packed MCG to cover all the action from 7.00pm AEST, with James Brayshaw and Alister Nicholson calling, Abbey Holmes hosting, Dale Thomas and Matthew Richardson as experts, as well as Xander McGuire from 7NEWS all on deck for the huge match.
Then, the finals action continues on Saturday afternoon as finals football makes its way to Sydney with the Swans taking on back-to-back reigning premiers, the Brisbane Lions, live and free on Seven and 7plus Sport from 2.30pm AEST.
The last match of the weekend will see the Adelaide Crows host an Elimination Final from a packed Adelaide Oval against the Western Bulldogs, wrapping up the finals action live from 6.30pm AEST.

The 2026 NAB AFLW season continues on Seven across Saturday and Sunday, celebrating the excellence and contribution of First Nations people to Australian Rules Football for 2026 AFLW Indigenous Round.
With three AFLW games on Saturday and four on Sunday across the network, it begins with the Western Bulldogs and Sydney Swans from 12.30pm AEST on Saturday, before the Brisbane Lions and GWS Giants face off on Saturday night from 6.30pm AEST. It leads into a massive clash on Sunday afternoon as arch-rivals Carlton and Collingwood clash at Ikon Park, live and free on Seven and 7plus from 3.00pm AEST.
Then, the West Coast Eagles’ remarkable 2006 season comes to life in Kings of the Big Game, a new three-part documentary series premiering Tuesday, 1 September, exclusively on Seven and 7plus. The series revisits the Eagles’ journey from the disappointment of the 2005 Grand Final to one of the most dramatic premiership campaigns in AFL history.
Wednesday night sees fan favourite The Front Bar hosted by Andy Maher, Mick Molloy and Sam Pang back again from 8.30pm on Seven and 7plus Sport, featuring GWS Giants captain Toby Greene. Before Hamish McLachlan sits down with former AFL star and the first Australian to play in a Super Bowl, Ben Graham, in a special episode of Unfiltered from 9.30pm on Seven and 7plus Sport.
Then, following the football action between Fremantle and Hawthorn on Thursday night, Seven and 7plus will air the second episode of an exclusive documentary, following the Brisbane Lions from the uncertain aftermath of a controversial merger to the pinnacle of Australian football.
Guided by Leigh Matthews and driven by a generation of champion players, ‘Hear The Mighty Roar’ is a five-part documentary series which will run throughout the AFL Finals period, continuing this Thursday night after the footy on Seven, 7mate and 7plus Sport.
