I can recall a time in 2001 when the Collingwood vs Richmond and Sydney vs Essendon AFL matches were played concurrently on a Friday night, and Seven would’ve covered both. This meant the Pies and Bombers had only four full days to prepare for their Anzac Day clash which was the following Wednesday (April 25).
Obviously, the Swans vs Essendon match (which Essendon won by 47 points against a Swans side that was sitting on top of the ladder at the time) would’ve been live, or at least on a half-hour delay, in Sydney. Not sure about other markets though.
