Definitely an error as that game is scheduled for May 10
Optus have told the AFR they will have discussions with SBS about whether they will continue to onsell some EPL games for the forthcoming season, but there is no guarantee the arrangement will be renewed.
It could mean Optus on-selling EPL matches to a commercial network. EPL has never been shown live on commercial channels here in Australia.
Didn’t One (HD) show highlights of particular matches early on?
One had Liverpool TV and Arsenal TV. So technically showed EPL but didn’t have rights per se.
I should have specified it referred to live broadcast.
Seeing SBS has the FIFA rights until 2022, you would think that it’s probably more likely than not that both parties will simply extend their current FIFA/EPL arrangement perhaps with SBS also getting some rights to whatever other properties Optus gets the rights to (Nations League, perhaps Champions League, etc)
SBS have announced first 2 rounds of FTA World Cup fixtures.
Also, they’ve secured rights to show a Sweden vs Denmark friendly in the lead up to the WC on 3rd June.
SBS will show the final game of the Premier League season next Sunday (May 13) straight after the Eurovision Song Contest grand final encore. Due to time difference, the match may not be shown live in SA, NT or WA.
The game can air live in SA & NT - all SBS would need to do is skip the pre-game and go straight to the match after Eurovision.
For WA, they might use SBS Viceland to show the EPL
For the first time ever, SBS broadcasts Roland Garros 2018: The French Open tennis tournament live from Stade Roland-Garros in Paris.
27 May at 10:30pm
Details of SBS coverage of French Open.
The final Premier League match to be shown on SBS this season is Liverpool v Brighton and Hove Albion at 11.30pm this Sunday. Due to Eurovision Song Contest final, the match will be delayed on TV in SA and NT, however it will be live on SBS Viceland in WA and streamed live on The World Game app from 11.30pm AEST.
no it isn’t. Its live into WA via SBS Viceland.
SBS will show the first ever soccer match at Perth Stadium, between Perth Glory and newly crowned FA Cup champions Chelsea, on Monday July 23. Telecast starts at 7.25pm local time for WA viewers (straight after SBS World News) and 9pm AEST for other states.
Go the blues!
French Open began last night.
On SBS Starts 10.30pm local time everywhere, but still live everywhere. So SA/NT miss the first 30 mins, and WA miss the first 2 hours.
Is there any local hosting or is it just the world feed on relay?
It is also streamed live on SBS on Demand so viewers in SA, NT and WA can see the parts not shown on TV.
