Yep. The name “soccer” will never be completely dead in Australia for as long as the team which represents our country on the global stage is still named the Socceroos.

Slight (!) hyperbole but if you compare it to 20 years ago.

Unfortunately, Football (aka soccer) Coverage on the SBS has been on a decline in recent years.

And Basketball (NBL and the NBA), plus various cycling tournaments (inc the Tour de France) have been steady or inreasing , in recent years on SBS.

Just wished that The World Game coverage was as big as ot was a decade ago.

The likes of Fox, beIN and Optus have really ‘squeezed’ SBS out of the picture in terms of being able to secure/renew football rights.

Now we know why it hasn’t been on for the last couple of months. The TV Show was quietly axed. Now that the whole The World Game website and social media has been officially axed, im glad in a way that there is some uproar online about it.

Something’s off here. The article has it wrong. SBS has had Nepalese rights for a while now.

Lucy Zelic is leaving SBS.

Jumping before she is pushed. And by pushed, I mean funding is cut further.

Big loss to SBS.

Won’t be surprised if 10 signs Lucy up for its A-League / W-League coverage.

Paramount/10, you know what to do.

I reckon she’s off to ViacomCBS. If that’s true, it’s step 1 of A-League coverage sorted.
