John Pilger’s new documentary, The Dirty War on the NHS, "goes to the heart of the struggle for democracy today,‘’ he says. Britain’s National Health Service, the NHS, was the world’s first universal public health service. Designed to give millions of people “freedom from fear”,the NHS today is under threat of being sold off and converted to a free market model inspired by America’s disastrous health insurance system, which denies as many as 87 million people medical treatment.

Now President Trump says the NHS is “on the table” in any future trade deal with America. Filmed in Britain and the United States, this timely, compelling documentary gives voice to remarkable witnesses in defence of the NHS and who warn that time is running out as the corporate raiders take hold, disguised in euphemisms such as“partnership”. This John Pilger film touches us all and reveals what may be the last battle top reserve the most fundamental human right.

Why Do I Put On Weight?

Tuesday 18 February at 9:35 PM

Combining rock-solid science with engaging personal stories, this experiment will revolutionise how we think about diet. Think long-term weight loss is impossible? Think again.

Your skinny best friend seems to eat twice as much as you. But you’re still overweight. Why? For decades, experts thought they had the answer - too many calories and not enough exercise. But the latest scientific research is turning those assumptions on their head. Differences in our individual biology - our genetics, hormones, or psychology - all play a crucial role. Now, five volunteers are going on diets tailored to their bodies and brains. They’re just like you - normal people who spend their lives going up and down in weight. Combining rock-solid science with engaging personal stories, this experiment will revolutionise how we think about diet. Think long-term weight loss is impossible? Think again.

This is a documentary on the development of country music produced by Ken Burns. It first debuted on PBS in the US in September 2019 as a series of eight two-hour episodes. It was later reedited into nine 50-minute episodes and shown on BBC Four in UK in November 2019. SBS is showing the nine-episode version by the looks of it.

While it’s great that The Feed gets “promoted” to the main channel, it’s getting bumped to an obscure timeslot.

Hasn’t it screened as repeats in a late slot, on the main channel before?

yes, that was late night repeats. It’s now first run in that timeslot AFAIK.
