The Clinton Affair

From Sunday 24 May at 08:30 PM, 8 episodes

January 2018 will mark 20 years since the start of the investigation that led to only the second impeachment trial in America’s history. This documentary series from Academy Award winning documentary director Alex Gibney, focuses on the extraordinary sequence of events, which are an indelible part of American identity. It is a story of a vast right wing conspiracy against the Clinton’s and a West Wing conspiracy against Monica Lewinsky, of Americans divided both along party lines and within themselves, as the nation was quick to condemn the behaviour of the president and Lewinsky, yet unable to look away.

The Clinton Affair

From Sunday 24 May at 08:30 PM

The six-part series The Clinton Affair, from Academy Award® and Emmy®-winning producer Alex Gibney’s Jigsaw Productions and Emmy®-winning director Blair Foster, examines the biggest political scandal of a generation and its lasting impact on the United States.

Produced to coincide with the 20th anniversary of the impeachment proceedings of President Bill Clinton in 2018, the documentary chronicles the events leading up to the impeachment trial and explores the role of media, feminism and politics in this story of sex, power, lies and ideological warfare. This documentary series traces the twisted, intertwined series of events that led to the impeachment trial that set the nation on the path towards a more staunchly partisan political system. The series features arresting archival footage as well as comprehensive interviews with the people closest to the events including a timely, in-depth reflection on the topic with Monica Lewinsky.

In this BBC special, Chris van Tulleken, Hannah Fry and Michael Mosley examine the latest research and explore some of the big questions about this virus and the pandemic it has created.

It’s been just 133 days since scientists sequenced the genome of the coronavirus.

Thousands of research papers have been published and sophisticated models built that have changed millions of lives.

But some basic facts about the SARs-CoV-2 virus and the pandemic it’s caused still seem elusive.

Drawing on the world’s experts and the latest research, Chris, Hannah and Michael explore what we really know - and what we don’t - about this deadly virus.

Where Are You Really From? - Season 3

From Tuesday 23 June at 9:30pm

Inspiring stories of extraordinary hardship and sacrifice of multicultural Australians Michael Hing returns with Season 3 of Where Are You Really From? Four-part documentary series premieres Tuesday June 23 at 9:30pm on SBS

Comedian and fifth-generation Australian, Michael Hing, is back on the road for season three of Where Are You Really From? and looking to flip the script on the question that has stalked Australian migrant families for generations.

The series unlocks the family stories of four migrant communities that have fundamentally changed the towns and cities that they call home. Over four episodes, Michael learns why these families came, why they stayed, what they’ve learnt and contributed and how they answer that big question.

Playful but poignant, this season takes in everything from Kung Fu battles and crocodile encounters to confronting stories of extraordinary hardship and sacrifice.

Really looking forward to this, as Melbourne’s Flinders Street Station is featured in episode 3. I wonder if SBS will show this episode first before going to other episodes? Episode 1 is New York’s Grand Central Station, episode 2 is Howrah Terminal in Kolkata, India and episode 4 is Zurich Hauptbahnhof in Switzerland.
The series debuted on Channel 5 UK in April 2019 and later aired on LifeStyle on Foxtel.

The movie is out tonight, replaced by documentary I Am MLK Jr. and a repeat of The Point episode Black Lives Matter.
