Nine’s broadcast of Test Rugby, Wallabies V All Blacks was on the main channel in all markets and averaged an impressive 893k with the pre and post game coverage also making the day’s top 10. The result helped Nine to a big win on the night.

It easily eclipsed the competition with ABC’s Beyond Paradise Season 2 Premiere the closest with almost 600k, up 170k on the previous week’s repeat episodes.

On Seven, the second episode of the new season of Healthy, Wealthy & Wise could only manage just over 300k, down +300k from the previous week that received a boost from the huge AFL and Seven News lead in.

Meanwhile the Australia Cup Final on 10 managed just 131k though that may be adjusted due to the extra time required to achieve a result.

Later, Die Hard 2 did ok for Seven with 284k.

Seven’s Horse Racing was on par with recent result with 178k as Nine’s afternoon coverage of the ICF Slalom World Championships missed the rankings.

Nine News was number one despite a 30 minute bulletin at 5pm in Perth while Weekend Sunrise had a +100k win at breakfast.

Bledisloe Cup game 2 thrashed the Australia Cup final, giving Nine a big win for the night.

You have to remember it’s 10, the network that get smashed in the ratings every hour of the day.

Except a few marquee shows.

Looks like Hard Quiz Kids premiere was a flop?

Nine had a fantastic night with the Rugby, a disruptor for everything else.

Healthy, Wealthy & Wise, as expected with no AFL GF lead-in, suffered a big drop, but still held an okay audience. They’ll want it to grow back a little though I reckon and certainly not decline more, biggest test will be future episodes especially away from any RU.

In comparison to the lead-in, old often re-run movie sequel Die Hard 2 did solid later into the evening, as did late 90s flick The Jackal (its brand back again recently with the acclaimed hit series) in a Bruce Willis double.

Once again, the AFLW nowhere to be seen on 7mate as the movie lead-out ranks. 9Go! also doing well with younger viewers.

Interesting that the rugby now rates where I feel that has traditionally not always been the case, even back when the Wallabies were dominant. Happy to be corrected if my memory is not correct.

@spw68 It rates well when it’s up against nothing - which probably speaks to the fact people have an interest in it but not as much as the major sports.

World Cup and matches between Australia/NZ have always rated solidly to well.

I see. Same as the previous seasons. Seems like a waste to me. I think it could attract a good audience on a Wednesday night.
