I would be loathe to take viewing numbers of an event 8 years ago to compare to today to consider a straight yes or no answer.
Really fascinating figures, doesn’t look great advertisement for sticking with afternoon time let alone the match audience and comparing other years.
With the unfolding demolition by Geelong, did flashback to that GWS one in 2019, but never thought it could be lower seeing as the Sydney Swans were playing and just all the hype around being back at the MCG, though it did certainly lack excitement build-up to other years with the Queen funeral and the shock Hawthorn news.
