Nine continued its winning streak thanks to tennis with a 31.5% share though Seven did well without primetime sport to rate 25.9%. ABC and SBS both dropped by three this weekend while 10 was down slightly from the previous week.

Nine’s coverage of Alex de Minaur’s win in the afternoon saw the Day Session of the Australian Open the top rated segment for the first time this tournament. It also provided a big lead in to Nine News that was delayed by five minutes in AEDT areas leading to the bulletin’s first win of 2025.

The Night session of the tennis was the next top rated at 633k while Night 2 and Late sessions also did well.

ABC’s Beyond Paradise was the top non-news program of the day, even outrating the tennis and with 668k was up slightly on the previous episode to rank fourth. Vera that followed in repeat form made the top 10 with 533k.

Seven’s Border Security also made the top 10 while two Arnold Schwarzenegger movies did well with 367k for the first and 224k for the second late into the night.

Meanwhile 10’s The Dog House Australia was down slightly on last week with just over 200k.

Earlier, Weekend Sunrise posted the highest breakfast TV rating of the year so far.

Wow, that average column, eye opening, how much FTA continues to decline even major sport and how much the landscape with streaming and other mediums has changed. Just imagine if networks, media and us were reporting/discussing only these still…

Thanks for posting some shows outside the top 30. Including Weekend Breakfast (Early) and NBC Today. Not often we see these early shows. Also, 10 News lead-in All 4 Adventure did better than i thought it would get.

As for the 5-cities Top 30… Yikes. Times have certainly have changed. Nothing to be excited about.

I’ve mentioned before that either of the 2 commercial breakfast shows should get the jump on the other and start at 6am on weekends - there is definitely an audience there based on NBC Today. Though I suppose if Seven is getting +100k for NBC Today why would they bother.

That is impressive. Though probably thanks to the 5:30am-7am audience which are used to Sunrise being in that timeslot on weekdays.

Out of curiosity @TV.Cynic, do you see much audience on a daily basis pre 5:30am, say 4am and after, whether it’s NBC Today or 7 Early News? Including the equivalent slot on weekends?

That rating for 9News Melbourne is huge. Surely one of their biggest rating bulletins in some time.
