Coverage of the completion of the historic Artemis II mission to the Moon saw several entries in Saturday’s rankings including three from ABC that made the top 10 along with two entries from Sunrise.

Later, Nine’s Space Invaders tied as primetime’s top entertainment show with 413k equal with ABC’s Blue Murder Motel, though both were outside the top 10. Legally Blonde got another airing on Nine with 268k while the late movie on Nine Monster-In-Law had 121k.

The Australian Athletics Championships continued on Seven averaging 409k while The Huntsman: Winter’s War just made the top 30 with 120k. A rare miss for Better Homes And Gardens in the rankings as well as no AFL.

Meanwhile on 10, double Love It Or List It Australia saw the first run episode up 30k to 246k to be 10’s best result of the day.

News at 6pm was back over one million with Seven News number one with 1.08m ahead of Nine News that had 1.03m. At 7pm A Current Affair was up +80k to 746k to win the 7pm timeslot over ABC News on 722k.

In contrast to the competition, Weekend Today rated lower than the previous week and rwas the third ranked breakfast show.

In the afternoon, Seven’s Horse Racing had 162k.

ABC News channel is no.1 in coverage of the splashdown…

The Artemis Mission Splashdown did well for the morning slots.

Weekend Sunrise Late did well with an average of 454k tuning in. While ABC News AM and The World This Week that followed Weekend Breakfast did very well too. - averaging 470k and 420k respectively.

Good numbers for Seven’s Athletics too.

Already considered that factor.

However, I don’t believe there were any significant drawcards last night that would cause a spike in the numbers. If we were to get minute-by-minute data of the broadcast, the fluctuation should be minimal.

So it would still draw about the same numbers in the timeslot in question, even if it broadcast in a different one.

ABC picked up its best ratings when the commercials finished coverage as they were the only FTA offering. With W Sunrise closing at 10:30am and W Today at 11:00am there was then a big switch to ABC News. Perhaps an error of judgement by Seven and Nine.

Before that W Sunrise blitzed the competition with 454,000 for the Late segment and earlier 424,000.

Also keep in mind out-of-AEST viewers. W Today was broadcast live into Adelaide and that’s it.

So for that group, ABC NC is largely their only choice to see it live.

No way to tell, depending on the race and completely different lead in. The first hour was probably significantly higher.

However, its still in incorrect and based on a guess
