To be honest, I think the bunker gets more right than wrong.
But there are still some howlers, like that disallowed try yesterday. One suggestion that I have is that they include a former player and coach in the bunker, have a panel of three so it’s not just one person reviewing it.
I think having people who understand/have played the game at a high level have a much better understanding of what is really an obstruction etc.
I remember reading when they were first starting the Bunker that they would have two so-called Junior Review Officials in the Bunker who report to one Senior Review Official who was supposed to check and sign off on the decision. I have checked on NRL website, and it mentions two officials per game, but I agree it feels like decisions are being made by one person. Whether that’s because we only hear one voice from the Bunker, or because the website is out of date, I’m not sure.
And when you look at the NRL match details on their website, it only mentions one person in the bunker (as the ‘Senior Review Official’ - who yesterday for the Knights v Dolphins game was Gerard Sutton). It doesn’t mention anyone else apart from the on field referee and touch judges.
Because the “Junior” officials are just operators, the “Senior” official is the one who makes the decision.
This has been a weird one, if he failed as the police claim, then why was he allowed to drive away?

I’m happy for the WA Bears being the 18th club. But not so much for PNG. Either a second New Zealand team, or a “Pacific” team. Heck, even Adelaide. I miss the Rams.
Cronulla survived a second half scare to beat North Queensland 26-18 in tonight’s semi final at Allianz Stadium. The Sharks scored the first four tries and led 24-0 at half time, and it was a question of how much the home side could win by. Instead, the Cowboys turned the table with three tries of their own in the second half, and the Sharks’ only response was Nicho Hynes’ 65th minute penalty.
As a Die hard Sharks fan, it was a fantastic first half to watch with some brilliant tries and a very worrying second half.
Thank goodness Nicho managed to kick the conversions and penalty goal otherwise it would have been a very edge of my seat/heart in my mouth second half getting to 18-18 without all the goals !

We could see a Storm vs Panthers Grand Final in the NRL in two weeks.
Should that be the case, it would be the eighth straight year in which one of the Storm, Panthers or Roosters have won the premiership.
Already, 13 of the last 14 minor premierships have been won by either of those three sides (the odd one out being the Bulldogs in 2012).
Yeah, it’s a bit tiring seeing the same sides dominating … Would like to see a “points” system for valuing players to help even out talent since there is no draft, but that probably won’t happen.
