I would say Perth, RWA, Tasmania, NNSW and RQLD viewers are more loyal to Seven/Nine than RVIC, but yes lots of people love Prime7 in RVIC.
Seven News is very popular in RVIC (look at the ratings on Regional TAM), and whenever I travel there in pubs, roadhouses etc. I always see their TVs on Prime7. This legacy goes back to the days before aggregation when all regional stations in Victoria took Seven National News with Mal Walden, and the majority of their programming (especially AMV4 Albury from 1988 onwards) were sourced from Seven.
Sure, so where do viewers go thatās more local should TVW pull the pin on Telethon etc.?
A post was merged into an existing topic: Regional TV History (pre-aggregation)
7 Brisbane needs to go back to doing their Childrenās hospital appeal like they did for many years. What 9 now does, āthe Channel 9 telethonā, is terrible.
The 2023 Good Friday Appeal was officially launched this afternoon.
As revealed exclusively in todayās Herald Sun, 2-year-old Arlo and 6-year-old Aru are the faces of this yearās campaign (from Rebecca Maddernās Instagram, pictured with Arloās mum Bronte and The Herald and Weekly Times chairman Penny Fowler)
Good Friday Appeal ambassadors include Rebecca Maddern and Peter Mitchell.
Appeal featured during Sevenās horse racing coverage this afternoon.
This yearās Good Friday schedule for Melbourne.
12:00 PM Royal Childrenās Hospital Appeal
04:00 PM AFL: North Melbourne v Carlton
07:00 PM Seven News
07:30 PM Royal Childrenās Hospital Appeal
11:30 PM Better Homes And Gardens
They canāt even let it run to midnight
I recall they used to air BH&G in Melbourne the next night on the Saturday night at 6:30pm during the week of the Good Friday Appeal, this was in the days when they didnāt have Saturday AFL and news only went 30min.
@TV.Cynic Is it not running on 7Two, like usual during AFL seasob, in Melbourne as well that night? Perhaps itās an encore, which seems weird anyway.
Yeah, the Good Friday Appeal broadcast is a shadow of its former self and itās sad what Seven have done to it.
BH&G is still airing on 7two in Melbourne on Good Friday.
Seven throws everything at Perthās Telethon instead
Assuming itās (again) coming from the same small scale set at NEP South Melbourne.
Really wish GTV9 would show some interest in obtaining this event. Give Seven a much needed kick up the arse.
Does Seven even care about it anymore?
In this weekās episode of Better Homes and Gardens, Adam Dovile tours the GFA charity house. This year, the house to be auctioned on Good Friday is located at Lara, north of Geelong.
Each year, the Good Friday Appeal house auction raises vital funds for the Royal Childrenās Hospital in Melbourne. While building a house is normally just a job, building a home that will help families looking after a sick child is a labour of love. Adam shows you the amazing property thatās up for grabs and heāll be guided by Reece, whose son Bryce has been in and out of the hospital his whole life while battling Cystic Fibrosis. Adam then meets a few of the tradies working on the house, who were all too happy to volunteer their valuable time. Because when it comes to the importance of family, you donāt need to ask them twice.

I wonder if industry legend Gordon Bennett still has any involvement? He certainly did at least a few years back. Would be lovely to see him make an appearance, even via video.
A shell of ifs former self.
At least Kochie and Nat are coming down. There could be so much more broadcast potential for the appeal. It used to be good but gone to crap after they scraped the audience and midnight finish
So boring having a musical performance and panel in the NEP studio
