The Good Friday Appeal website now has an update on next month’s event.
Will be the first time since 1960 that HSV doesn’t have a full day telethon on Good Friday
I cant see why they cant broadcast the telethon on one of 7’s secondary channels like 7two, 7Mate or 7fix instead
There is no telethon. Broadcasting is not the issue
Seven could take advantage of this situation by broadcasting live horse racing from Singapore.
The appeal will go fully digital this year with the introduction of “virtual tin shake” for online donations. Donations can go towards a town or area goal, as well as the overall tally. So far, just more than $20,000 have been raised.
A promo that is doing the rounds
They’ve cracked a million just after midday, well below previous years IIRC but to be expected in the current climate. I expect there might be some of the large corporate donations to come in the one-hour special this evening, many of which the culmination of fund raising activities throughout the year
It would be good if Ch7 could maybe do some updates during the afternoon.
maybe they are. I haven’t had the TV on.
Nothing at the movement.
The Morning Show reminded people to donate if they could this morning.
Maybe in their news updates we might see something. I’m assuming the local afternoon news too.
Promo for tonight
Due to coronavirus, this year’s Good Friday Appeal charity house won’t be auctioned off (not sure why they can’t hold an online auction like many other real estate agents have done in the past couple of weeks). Instead it will be listed for sale, with the sale price added to this year’s appeal total at a later date.
Using the new AFL Game Day desk I see, which is the old Daily Edition desk. Coming from the news set like Game Day did for their first episode for the season
I wonder where the news will be coming from tonight?
Was also mentioned on 9’s news this morning.
