Around half an hour of Rove Live from 10th June 2003 including an interview with the Charlie’s Angels and My Charader:
Loved Rove ,he really was on the crest of ot a wave then disaster struck and he was never the same again.
I vaguely remember this episode.
How’s the production values for a live talk show back then? The comparison is massive when compared to 2026. Networks had money then.
Rove Live and The Panel, back when Channel 10 had quality live TV.
Proper studio, proper crews, JIB’s, and a good director who knew how to direct TV.
I do miss seeing this level of production in Australia.
Then The Project started.
The (7pm) Project started some months earlier.
Oh really. For some reason I thought it started soon after.
7pm Project started 20 July 2009.
?
His then wife, Australian actress Belinda Emmett, passed away in November 2006. The show finished its Tuesday run at this time.
But then he returned in 2007 with the show relaunched on Sunday nights. Production also moved from Nunawading to South Melbourne at this time.
Yes his wife got cancer, it was different times and it took the wind right out of his sails, he was never the same, completely understandable.
Rove live was a really pumping show, like the new hey hey its Saturday crossed with letterman.
It really was the last live tonight show Australia produced.
It was soooo funny and ot the cuff, once you get that sucker punch that life can give, nothing helps. I felt so sad for Rove and his family .
