Colin’s mates from England are in town to catch up with Colin and relive their legendary Dolphin Cove backpacking holiday. But nothing spoils a trip to Paradise faster than opening your motel room to find the corpse of a stranger.
It’s no holiday for Mackenzie Clarke and the team either, as the body was in a room locked from the inside, with no explanation for how the killer got out. And while Colin is revisiting history with an old crush, Mack and Glenn are desperately trying to put their growing fire out.

A literary festival takes a deadly turn when a crime writer is found stabbed to death in his villa, shortly after announcing his controversial comeback book.
But with all the suspects filming a panel at the time, how could any of them have committed the murder?
As Mack unravels a literary scandal, she and Glenn must put aside their differences to team up after Frankie falls critically ill.
Another great season. Easy to watch Australian murder mystery series. I hope to see it back next year.

Mackenzie Clarke has one goal for Glenn and Daisy’s wedding day – to fly under the radar. So of course, the ceremony is interrupted by the murder of an uninvited guest. And their final word just so happens to be Mack’s name.
So much for not drawing attention to herself. Mackenzie is forced to put a halt to Glenn and Daisy’s nuptials and figure out who this mystery guest is, who murdered them, and how?
So finally got around to watching it.
It is very good - great cast, great location, some of the writing can be a little bit cheesy IMO, but I think it adds to the appeal of the show.
Already partway through season 1, and am looking forward to finishing off the rest.

Oh that’s great news. I’m glad you like it. I think it’s fun and cheesy and when I can’t guess the killer, like most episodes of this show, it makes it better. Anna is perfect for the role too.
Season 2 premieres on Sky Open in New Zealand on Saturday, January 17 at 8.30pm.
Any news on Season 3? I’ve searched everywhere I know but can’t find any confirmation there will be a third Season. I certainly hope so.

Return to Paradise is in production
The ABC is thrilled to announce that filming is underway on season three of the Logie award winning series Return to Paradise, Australia’s original spin-off of the global smash-hit murder mystery Death in Paradise.
The compelling and entertaining six-part whodunit series is produced by BBC Studios Australia Productions, in partnership with Red Planet Pictures, a Fremantle company, for the ABC, and in association with the BBC.
DS Mackenzie Clarke (Anna Samson) is back, fresh from having wrecked another of Glenn’s (Tai Hara) weddings and determined never to follow her heart again.
But ignoring her heart won’t be easy. The arrival of her force-of-nature mother Jillian (Kerry Armstrong) puts Mack’s mettle to the ultimate test and there’s something undeniable about the raffish charm of the new pathologist Leo (Jacob Collins). And as for Glenn, who has gone away to ‘find himself’, well that’s a whole other puzzle for Mack to try and solve …
And, while Dolphin Cove may still look like paradise, it continues to serve up a steady stream of baffling murder mysteries – from the artist stabbed in full view of the public, to the wildlife worker dead in a locked cassowary cage. Mack will solve it all with her usual brilliance, and the off-beat help of her loyal team.
Reprising their roles in the award-winning series are Lloyd Griffith as Colin Cartwright, Tai Hara as Glenn Strong, Catherine McClements as Philomena Strong, Celia Ireland as Reggie Rocco and Aaron McGrath as Felix Wilkinson.
Season three also features a stellar line up of guest actors including Mark Lee (A Place to Call Home, La Brea), Tina Bursill (Strife, Doctor, Doctor), Ngali Shaw (Ladies in Black, The Twelve), Anthony Hayes (The Slap, Total Control), Zöe Ventura (Packed to the Rafters, Time Bandits), Zindzi Okenyo (Troppo, Critical Incident) and Matt Day (Rake, The Unusual Suspects).

Mack’s back to crack more cases this November in a new season of Return to Paradise*
Dolphin Cove’s favourite outcast, Detective Sergeant Mackenzie Clarke is back for the third season of Return to Paradise, premiering on Saturday 14 November at 7.30pm on ABC TV and ABC iview.
Fresh from having destroyed another of Glenn’s weddings, Mackenzie (Anna Samson) finds herself, once again, in the doghouse with the local community.
Following the shocking departure of pathologist Glenn Strong (Tai Hara), Mack throws herself into her work alongside ever-faithful Senior Constable Colin Cartwright (Lloyd Griffith). Together, they tackle a string of baffling crimes: an artist stabbed in full view of an audience, a wildlife worker killed in a locked cage and a famous film director shot at her own screening.
Away from the police station, life is no less complicated. Mack must navigate the arrival of her force-of-nature mother Jillian (Kerry Armstrong) and the attention of handsome new pathologist Leo (Jacob Collins), who quickly takes an interest in the brilliantly unconventional detective. Yet her most challenging case may prove to be her own heart.
An exceptional guest cast including Anthony Hayes, Tina Bursill, Mark Lee, Zoe Ventoura, Aaron Pedersen, Rob Carlton, Matt Day, Bruce Spence, Sonia Todd, Diana Glenn and Zindzi Okenyo will also feature throughout the season.
