Believe he went back to managing his business ventures full time unless he is doing an off air role
Heās currently hosting The Morning Rush with Sean Cullen on the Ace AM network (including 3YB FM). Networked out of Warrnambool across the state.
Central Queensland has their ratings out today: https://www.commercialradio.com.au/RA/media/General/Documents/Surveys%20for%20Regional/CENTRAL-QUEENSLAND-XTRA-INSIGHTS-PUBLIC-SURVEY-RESULT.pdf?ext=.pdf
Hit is #1 with 33.3% (+5.0 from 2019), followed by Triple M with 20.8% (-1.6), ABC Capricornia with 9.1% (-2.8) & JJJ with 8.6% (-0.1). Of the AM commercial stations, 4CC rated 6.9% (+1.3), whilst 4RO rated 4.3% (-2.6).
In the demos, Hit is #1 in the under-55s, with Triple M winning the 55-64s (with 4CC #2) & ABC Capricornia dominating in the 65+ (with 4RO #2, followed by 4CC).
In breakfast, Hitās Cliffo & Gabbi is #1 with 34.2% (+6.1 from when it had a local breakfast show), followed by Triple Mās Chris āBanksyā Banks with 19.3% (-3.0) & ABC Capricorniaās Paul Culliver with 10% (-3.0).
CC and RO need to get on FM
I agree. I guess they would turn one of them into Star FM and leave one with the current Classic Hits format, which is not a bad music formatā¦It just needs to be on the FM band.
SCA will do their best to make sure that doesnāt happen.
RO is only on FM in Yeppoon (90.5) and CC at Agnes Waters (98.3) - I think Yeppoon is on air, but not sure about Agnes Waters.
And only CC is on air in Biloela (666am), I donāt think RO (93.3), Triple M (96.5) or Hit (97.3) are on there yet either. Though they have Rebel and Breeze there (covered by Banana).
RO also never bothered to activate itās 1125am repeater in Gladstone.
All of which would make diddly squat of difference to the ratings given Rocky is the main player, Gladstone could make a bit of a difference though.
From what I gather on ACMAās RRL, 4RO doesnāt have its Yeppoon FM repeater on-air, in which itās not even being licenced. 4CCās Agnes Waters FM translator is on-air though.
I do remember that 4CC wanted to have its 90.5FM Yeppoon translator on-air back in the late 2000s, but was knocked back by ACMA.
Hereās the Discussion Paper from November 2008 about the proposal: https://web.archive.org/web/20140213033355/http://www.acma.gov.au/webwr/_assets/main/lib310781/ep_draft_lap_rockhampton_gladstone.pdf
Today, weāre off to the Central Coast of NSW: https://www.commercialradio.com.au/RA/media/General/Documents/Surveys%20for%20Regional/THE-CENTRAL-COAST-XTRA-INSIGHTS-PUBLIC-SURVEY-RESULT.pdf?ext=.pdf
Star 104.5 remains on top with 19.1% (+0.8), followed by Hit 101.3 at 15.1% (-0.9), Triple M with 12.6% (+0.1), JJJ with 6.9% (-0.7) & ABC Central Coast with 4.1% (-0.2). Of the Sydney FM stations, KIIS is #1 with 5.5% (+0.7), well ahead of the others from there, including Smooth with 2.2% (+0.1), 2MMM with 1.7% (-0.1), Nova with 1.6% (+0.5), 2Day with 1.2% (+0.6) & WS with 1.1% (-0.3).
In the demos, Star is #1 in the 18-64s (yes, including the 55-64s, where 2GO used to dominate), with Triple M winning the 65+.
In breakfast, Starās Rabbit & Gina is #1 with 18.9% (+0.9), followed by Hitās Maz & Nic Kelly (Lakey had already departed by the time the survey took place) with 15.3% (-0.9) & Triple Mās Paddy & Rob Palmer with 12.3% (+1.1). In drive, Starās Hayden Else dominates with 20.1% (-0.1), followed by Hitās Carrie & Tommy with 15.5% (-3.0) & Triple Mās Rush Hour with 11.7% (-0.9).
The āOther Stationsā ratings is 25.6%, down from 26.5% last year. Much of that would be towards Coast FM, as well as towards 2GB from Sydney.
Thereās no link to any data & im pretty sure no other stations are included (hot & mix).
I like the idea of celebrating a survey win when the youāre the only station thatās taken part.
I remember 2GO - they used to own the Central Coast. In fact, 2GO was the Central Coast.
Itās good to see Triple M rocking it with another regional win for the over 65 age group. This brand has slowly moved from the 18- 24 demographic to the over 70s.
I am waiting for the āTriple M Rocks Aged Careā bumper stickers.
To be fair, the āOther Stationsā ratings share is very high in that age group, in which itās a whopping 57.4%. In the 55-64s, the āOther Stationsā ratings share is at 34.3%.
Triple M (2GO) would benefit from a live and local drive program looking at those ratings. Star is over 20% share because they have a monopoly for local content that time of day.
IF SCA were real they would try and push hard with the old 2GO for live and local to try and drag back punters to increase profits from the region. 2GO used to be the coast cash cow when it was in its prime.
All regional Triple Mās have sooo much potential if they were more local.
It is a AM Off air retransmission of 927AM
Yes, I hardly think people over 60 or so would actually like listening to Triple M.
Congratulations? For what? Coming last and 2nd last in local commercial radio?
Claiming ālargest audienceā is not a fair metric when itās across 2 stations.
Star is over 20% share because they have a monopoly for local content that time of day.
Iām not sure how accurate that is. Iāve been listening this afternoon and itās pretty much non stop much. Barely any other content at all, let alone local.
Maybe they have more flexibility in the music because itās only programmed for the local market, but I might as well have been listening to a station anywhere else in the country or Spotify.
Iād say the biggest advantage is that it isnāt the endless mindless drivel that SCA have - local or not.
The best thing about Star is that - apart from the breakfast show - theyāre always playing music (or ads!) every time you turn them on. Yes, itās quite a repetitive playlist, but itās much preferable to the talkfest on other stations.
In drive, Starās Hayden Else dominates with 20.1% (-0.1), followed by Hitās Carrie & Tommy with 15.5% (-3.0) & Triple Mās Rush Hour with 11.7% (-0.9).
Hayden Else is far cheaper than the overpaid drink driving ācelebritiesā on metro drive. Another endorsement of why local music works.
