Assuming that 90.5 isn’t reallocated to another community licensee following the demise of 2EZY, perhaps the adjacent frequency of 90.7 could be used for 2LT FM.
Far enough away from JJJ SW Slopes, and adjacent channel i/f with SKY Sports Mudgee and News Radio Illawarra probably wouldn’t be an issue?
Whatever frequency is chosen is going to have some sort of issue like this.
Just wondering if anyone can help in identifying a particular news theme I heard on my local radio station - 2BS 95.1FM in Bathurst. I am unsure what news service they use, if it helps, I heard a 9 News reporter signoff. It was a really cool sounding theme, straight from the 80s.
If it had the 9 News sign off, sounds like they might be taking Nine News from 2GB, which uses “Cool Hand Luke” theme, which I’m sure you’ve heard on TV on Nine?
Nine doesn’t send it’s radio news with the cool hand luke theme - each station is free to run their own news intro (as it was under Macquarie, Fairfax etc) so I presume not?
They probably aren’t using the Supernetwork theme either, since they have been pretty hesitant to take anything from the network (including news).
2BS and B-Rock seem to have dodged any major changes (for now). Apart from the occasional BOG client popping up, and the fact 2BS now takes Laws. Other than that, both stations have pretty much zero on air alliance with their remaining network.
It was mentioned earlier when “the deal was done” that this could simply be due to contractual/commercial agreements. Once these expire I am sure we’ll see more BOG programming, news and their way of running things pop up in Bathurst.
… That’s unless Bill gives them the same special treatment which he gives to Newcastle …
It’s been long enough that any supply agreements would have expired. I’d say it’s more a case of Bathurst makes enough money to still have the resources to continue with the status quo and a lack of central network management means there’s no one to dictate otherwise.
Bill might have ambitions to own the biggest network he can, but he clearly has no desire to run it. The local teams are largely left to there own devices, with differing outcomes. In some markets the product is horrific, but in others there are dedicated people who love their job and are creative enough to make a lot out of not much and therefore create a very good product.
Are B-Rock doing the Bathurst 1000 this year? Tried tuning into the app and they didn’t have it on Friday, can’t find anything online mentioning whether they have it or not this year.
