Brad Smart’s questions to them via radioinfo article. Was a good read.
I thought it wasn’t a Rebel FM issue, I thought his show was stopped being produced altogether? Are these new shows or repeats.
I will have to try the Dee Snider and Sammy Hagar shows… they sound like they could be a good listen too.
Yes the show stopped being produced in the US. He has a new distributor. Yes, they are all new shows Mon-Thu.
Sammy moves to Fridays 1800 & Dee 2000 (plus both @ 0400 weekdays)
Great news.
Territory FM in Darwin are also airing the new Alice show.
Seems for the last week or so Rebel 90.5 signal has been below normal; especially when compared to Breeze 92.1.
May be reception related. On the transmission side, 90.5 & 92.1 tx’s are running identical power into a common antenna system. Transmission logs look normal for last week.
An issue with Rebel Media services from Mt Dunsinane (Beaudesert/Logan) this morning. Both 90.5 and 92.1 are broadcasting only electrical noise, and have been for a few hours. From what I can tell, 99.4 GC is not affected, nor is the co-sited 89.7 TAB service.
Yes - Gold Coast and Childers duos are ok.
Edit: Seems to be fixed now.
Rebel 99.4 (and presumably others) had a bit of a playout issue this morning. Went from a song (Aerosmith’s Dream On, which belongs in a list on this forum), then played the news theme at about 10:45am and seemed to take the 2GB feed unfiltered for a while. Not sure when it was fixed but Online Radio Box seems to suggest the next song wasn’t played until about half an hour later…
Let’s just say, having to hear Ray Hadley bleat about brumbies being culled in NSW was not a pleasant experience. In fact, having Ray Hadley on Rebel FM at all was not pleasant. I hope to never hear it again
It’s bizarre how “Bolts” can even get into the Rebel playout system.
Isn’t that similar to the format 4BC had in the mornings? Right-wing talk with classic rock songs?
Not sure if that would be economical for Rebel/Breeze - would most likely set them back 100k+ per year, could they recoup that?
It possibly would but if they obtained a good number of listeners they could recoup it through higher advertising rates and sell targeted advertising into Bris.
Their point of difference formats and consistency without staleness are a huge advantage for them.
Caught then end of some dead air on Breeze 92.1 this morning; seems back to normal now.
I have noted that Rebel use the cheeky positioner ‘rock’s greatest unflogged hits’ on occasion. I reckon they should add ‘Mediaspy’s favourite radio station’ to the stings. How about it @AJ1 ?
second that
Hi @AJ1 , on a day trip to Gloucester today, I noted that Breeze97 didn’t have any RT info. Is it meant to have any?
