The Seven Network won Monday night’s primetime ratings with its biggest Monday share in six weeks up 1.5 from last Monday. Nine also improved its network result as ABC lost 2 points with 10 and SBS even.
Nine won Sydney (27.5%), Melbourne (27.2%) and Brisbane (28.8%) while Seven won Adelaide (29.8%) and Perth (35.2%) with a main channel share higher than its commercial rival’s network shares.
However, in the key demo groups, 10 recorded clear wins with 30.0% in 25-54 and 34.2% in 16-39.
In the multichannels it was a good night for 10 Bold winning total people and key demos. 10 Peach ranked second in the key demos with 9Go! third.
Have You Been Paying Attention? topped the entertainment offerings with a close contest between reality offerings at 7.30pm all managing over 600k. Big Brother on 620,000 edged out MasterChef (615,000) and Celebrity Apprentice (601,000).
News numbers were still high with A Current Affair recording a rare + 800,000 figure at 7pm. 10 News scored its highest rated bulletin of the year.
Seven’s night also included Home and Away (593,000), 9-1-1 (318,000), SWAT (174,000) and The Latest (104,000).
Over on Nine, Emergency managed 300,000 with Footy Classified on 120,000 in AFL markets and 100% Footy 52,000 in NRL markets.
Rolland Garros tennis coverage included 9Gem Late (78,000), Nine Late (73,000) and 9Gem Night (63,000).
10’s line-up also included a How To Stay Married Encore with 196,000 and Just for Laughs with 98,000. Earlier, The Project had 551,000 and 339,000 and 10 News at 6pm 297,000.
ABC’s share was its lowest Monday of the 2021 survey with Australian Story (538,000), Media Watch (397,000) and Four Corners (385,000) well down on recent results. Later, Baby Surgeons had 164,000.
Secret Scotland on 202,000 was SBS’s best followed by SBS World News (197,000 and 156,000) plus Secrets of the Tower of London (172,000).
Breakfast TV saw Today closer than usual notable for winning the east coast thanks to excellent Brisbane numbers. Lower than usual numbers for News Breakfast.
