Ratings: Seven tops low rating night of FTA as younger audiences look elsewhere

Seven won its third straight Wednesday of Free-to-air TV ratings on a night when key younger age groups had to look elsewhere for television entertainment.

In the top 5 places across three younger demos, Home and Away in 5th place in 16-39 was the only non-news entry with The Project taking out top place in two and news filling the other places.

Overall, Seven was equal with the previous Wednesday while 10’s share dropped two points with Nine and ABC up roughly one point each. Nine came out on top in Sydney with Seven number one in the other markets.

In the 25-54 demographic Seven had 28.3%, Nine 24.6%, 10 22.1%, ABC 16.5% and SBS 8.5%.

In 16-39 Seven had 30.7%, 10 22.0%, Nine 21.8%, ABC 17.5% and SBS 8.1%.

The biggest improver from the previous week was Julia Zemiro’s Home Delivery that gained 75,000 viewers. 10’s post 7.30 line-up all missed the top 20, with Bondi Rescue down over 80,000 to 346,000 for episode one and 282,000 for the repeat that followed. That saw Kath & Kim and The Front Bar sneak into the top 20 with small gains week-on-week.

American’s Got Talent and The Weekly also posted gains while later Crocodile Dundee II had 238,000 on Nine with 212,00 for Tommy on 10.

Best for SBS were Inside Cadbury: Chocolate Secrets (233,000) and SBS World News (184,000).
