Our audience trajectory continues to climb, with the 9Network delivering a second successive year of audience growth across every key demographic and Total People measure.

This sustained expansion was powerfully driven by the exceptional performance of our tentpole programs, including Married at First Sight , The Block , Tipping Point and the reliability of our News and Current Affairs slate (9News , A Current Affair , and 60 Minutes ).

A standout example of this growth is Love Island Australia , which has seen phenomenal year-on-year uplift, recording an 80% increase in Total TV audience and a staggering 104% growth in BVOD consumption.

Crucially, this audience expansion has been shared across all commercial free-to-air networks, underscoring the enduring strength and success of Free-To-Air Television in the modern media landscape.

We’re also proud to be the home of the two highest rating new programs in 2025 - The Floor and The Golden Bachelor .

Furthermore, 9Now reaffirms its leadership as the nation’s premier Commercial Free-To-Air (CFTA) BVOD platform, dominating the year with all key demographics and Total People. And I just questioned Seven’s EOY news special airing on Dec 11.

Guess Nine waves the white flag for December then. Not exactly off considering the potential for up to 10 days of the Ashes.

(Really, after that first test, 15 is pretty much off the table.)

Saturday is the end of the unofficial ratings period which is why these reports tend to come out now, though Nine’s covers more than the ratings period.

Some of Nine’s claims, particularly metro No. 1 network in all people and news, would be interesting if non-survey was excluded.

Also, if Nine didn’t, the obvious omission would be the Australian Open, which drives a lot of reach and all day shares for Nine, especially metro, key demos and in live bvod in January.

But once again, a dominant, impressive year across the board for the network  TP, news, Married, Block and Origin / NRL GF numbers the standouts, just in all people, but amazing with younger viewers, broadcast and 9Now.

I tried to keep track of that from the info available. There is no difference in Nine’s average audience share whether the non-survey period is excluded or not - they did that well for the rest of the year as well. Remember that of the 6 weeks before the start of the unofficial survey Seven won 3 as well as the the 2 weeks at Easter.

Which in itself doesn’t seem like a great result, especially for supposedly the largest network (reach and average) and how strong regional and older viewers skew for them, also for the FTA network that currently holds the cricket rights (FTA Big Bash and tests).

No surprises that Nine won most rated two reality shows of the year - Married at First Sight and The Block. As well as most rated afternoon game show - Tipping Point.

Interesting that Nine is claiming no.1 in metro for the weekday News. While Seven will claim no.1 in total viewers (that includes regional). But to be expected - both Seven and Nine have always claimed victory in the ratings reports in recent years. Skewing reports from metro and regionals, to surverly.and non survey periods etc.

Most rated? Is this a new turn of phrase?

Highest rated. Yes. i should have used that before.

I could have also used Most loved. Most popular. Etc.

OK. Hghest rated makes more sense.
