Ratings: MasterChef tops entertainment offerings on Thursday night TV

MasterChef was Thursday’s top entertainment offering but with no Katy Perry or MasterClass , 10 lost some share from the previous Thursday but overall was only down one point. Seven had the largest share of the audience up one point from the previous week while Nine , ABC and SBS were steady. Across the markets, Nine won the biggest two with Sydney and Melbourne with Seven ahead elsewhere. 10 ranked second in Melbourne.

10 again was the top channel and network in the key demo groups posting its biggest shares of the week.

In 25-54, 10 averaged a 31.1% network share, with Nine second on 26.9%. Seven ranked third with 25.4% with ABC on 10.2% and SBS with 6.5%.

In the 16-39 age bracket, 10 secured 33.5%, Seven had 25.7%, Nine 25.5% while ABC slipped to 9.7% and SBS 5.5%.

After Thursday, Nine leads the week so far with 27.7% ahead of Seven with 25.3% and 10 on 22.1%.

MasterChef posted its best Thursday result for three weeks with The Project also delivering for 10 in key demos.

Triple Home And Away for Seven managed 586,000 staring at 7pm while RBT on Nine had 464,000 at 7.30pm.

Later on 10, a Law and Order : SVU repeat missed the top 20 with 298,00 just behind Seven’s 8.30pm movie The Proposal with 314,000, while Nine’s The Bourne Legacy ranked 25th with 279,000.

News results were steady except for ABC News that dropped 60,000 while 10’s 6pm News made a rare appearance in the top 20.
