Ratings: I’m a Celebrity and Jack Irish slip as Seven wins Thursday

The Seven Network won its fifth night in a row but no program could manage one million viewers on a quite Thursday night.

The top entertainment title was Seven’s Home and Away with 747,000 just ahead of Ten’s I’m a Celebrity with a 722,000 and ABC’s Jack Irish with 682,000. I’m a Celebrity was down from 794,000 the previous week but still recorded it s best result for the week while Jack Irish slipped 34,000 week-on-week.

Seven’s network share improved to 28.0% with Nine dropping to 26.0%. Ten (20.5%), ABC (18.5%) and SBS (6.9%) were steady.

Seven News continued its winning streak with 964,000 and 924,000 with Home and Away next best and the premiere movie Captain America: The Winter Soldier averaging 461,000. The Big Bang Theory had 455,000 while The Chase had 582,000 and 385,000 in the afternoon.

Also making the top five was Nine News with 902,000 and 822,000 with A Current Affair in sixth spot with 749,000. Nine’s factuals were even with last week with RBT best on 518,000, Kings Cross ER on 505,000 and Inside Story again fourth in its timeslot on 481,000. Later, An Hour to Save Your Life had 342,000 with Hot Seat on 429,000 in the afternoon.

Meanwhile, Ten’s early evening had The Project with 510,000 and 398,000, Family Feud on 502,000 and Ten Eyewitness News averaging 463,000. Later, Law and Order: SVU saw 414,000 tune in for a new episode and 255,000 for the repeat that followed.

ABC News (772,000) was in fifth place for the night with 7.30 in tenth with 661,000. Hatch Match & Dispatch dropped 50,000 from last week to 480,000 with No Offence on 314,000 and Antiques Roadshow 231,000.

The Family Law concluded with 201,000 on SBS with Food Safari Fire (302,000) and Rachel Khoo’s Kitchen Notebook: London (197,000) next best.

In the breakfast TV battle it was another win for Today with 331,000 while Sunrise slipped to just 286,000.

The afternoon saw Seven News at 4 (282,000) and Seven News at 4.30 (278,000) on Seven up against Nine’s Afternoon News 5pm (277,000) and Nine’s Afternoon News (172,000) on Nine.
