In Seven’s Friday Night Football, Adelaide v Geelong delivered a convincing Crows victory and a 5 City Metro average audience of 1.057 million. That included 522,00 in Melbourne and 299,000 in Adelaide on Channel Seven and 58,000 Sydney, 41,000 Brisbane and 137,000 Perth on 7Mate. The average combined metro + regional audience was 1,356,000 on FTA while Foxtel’s national audience was 436,000.

Nine’s First preliminary final that saw the Storm progress to the grand final had 730,000 watching on Nine including 328,000 in Sydney, 88,000 in Melbourne and 314,000 in Brisbane plus 20,000 on 9GEM. The combined metro + regional audience on Nine and 9Gem reached 1.273 million while the game’s national Foxtel audience was 390,000.

Saturday :rugby_football:

Seven’s Saturday AFL game that saw Richmond triumph had a Seven + 7Mate audience of 1,097,000 including Sydney 86,000, Melbourne 609,000 Brisbane 54,000, Adelaide 200,000 and Perth 148,000. A record 552,00 watched nationally on Foxtel.

Over on Nine, The Cowboy’s win was seen by 713,000: 367,000 Sydney and 266,000 Brisbane on Nine plus 45,000 Melbourne, 15,000 Adelaide and 20,000 Perth on 9GEM. The metro + regional audience came in at 1.256 million while Foxtel recorded 409,000 nationally for the game.

Also on Seven the WAFL Grand Final rated 137,000 (107,000 in Perth), the SANFL Grand Final had 113,000 and the VFLW Grand Final saw 106,000 Victorians tune in including 86,000 in Melbourne. The VFL Grand Final Port Melbourne v Richmond had a metro rating of 202,000 (256,000 statewide).

So, Seven lost viewers in Melbourne to Foxtel (obviously)?

What a figure, 552k! Incredible. Wouldn’t have imagined last year’s GWS vs Western Bulldogs would be broken a year later…

Foxtel will be happy it set a new AFL ratings record.
I suspect Seven’s Melbourne audience for last night’s match (609,000) could have been higher since Seven did not split it into pre-match, match and post-match like the rest of the season.

I’d expect big ratings, considering it was an absolute nail biter.
