Bloody PC police! :stuck_out_tongue:

Yes! And the Saturday night cult movie, fronted by Des Mangan. I got SBS way too late to appreciate in full how wonderful it was.

I was a bit young for Sex/Life…

Why not revive Wheel of Fortune too while they’re at it?

The Panel and Good News Week were always appointment viewing for me in the 1990s although I really disliked the Ten reboot of GNW. Can’t understand why a network hasn’t attempted an informal, topical panel show in the years since.

What about when they turned it into Good News World in 2011?

Bring back The Weakest Link!

I’d love to see how this current generation’s general knowledge stacks up.

That’s when it went south really quickly.

Can anyone remember how QTQ covered the 2006 Queensland state election? My knowledge of it is that it occurred on the same day/evening as a Brisbane Broncos NRL finals match.

Perhaps @nationalnews might know.

Don’t know if this has ever been mentioned on here, but…

  • in 2003, Seven had a shocking year, yet had the highest-rating program of the year in the Rugby World Cup final
  • in 2011, Nine failed to win a single ratings week, but had the highest-rating program of the year in the Block finale.

Anyone know or remember why Seven’s horror 2003 got more commentary than Nine’s winless 2011 ratings season? I’d like to think that Seven not having any major sport (namely the AFL) to broadcast in the winter months was a major factor.

Remember Mark Mitchell (better known as Con the Fruiterer) from The Comedy Company? Well, check this out.

Here’s a Continental Cheesy Risotto Rice commercial from the 1990s, featuring the late Keith Floyd.

If I recall correctly, 2003 was the biggest ratings gap between Nine and Seven for some time (maybe since the 80s)

Aside from its unbeatable news brand, the fact that Nine had both the two major sporting codes (AFL and NRL) literally left the competition for dead.

I also wonder what the gap between Seven and Nine in Perth was, perhaps one of @Super_SC or @BigVic might know.

Back when she was still Kate Fischer.

Seven News Perth was still the top rated news bulletin back then despite the loss of AFL rights to Nine.

Does anybody have any idea where the NRTV’s Gold Coast studios were build on Southport Nerang Road in Ashmore? I’ve been along that road count less times thought-out the last few years, with hearing and reading about it, I can’t find that specific building, and I’m wounding if it’s still around. (The building that is.)

Also there’s one with Shane Warne and the late Gough Whitlam.
