Random TV History

"In 1980, NBN purchased Southern Television Corporation. In exchange for a majority stake in NBN, NWS-9 was sold to the Lamb family in 1982. In 1999, the Lamb family sell NWS-9 to Southern Cross Broadcasting, leading to redundancies among almost half the station’s staff. "

I’ve never found this information on NBN before, does anyone have any history on this?

Really? Also, another question, where about in Cowper St, Taree was ECN-8 old studios?

I believe there is a high school on the site now.

I always thought that the ECN8 studios were next door to the 2RE studios, but I could be wrong.

I read somewhere once that Monte Dwyer (former Today weather presenter) once guest-presented the weather on Sunrise in September 2008. Anyone able to recall?

I think that may have been the case, wouldn’t be able to tell when but I think I can recall it happening and them making a bit of a joke about it. It was long after his time at Today.

Looks like it may have been in October 2009. Looks like there was quite the drama with poor old Monte too!

Never saw this version before, much more like a FM breakfast show than a TV show, not bad though

I’m heading up to Tamworth today, and was wondering, did NEN (Prime7) ever have a statue of their original logo out the front of the studios on Goonoo Goonoo Rd? If so, what happened to it?

I only ever recall there being billboard signs out the front of the Prime studios in Tamworth when I was at uni in Armidale about 10 years ago. How long ago would there have been a statue?

I think there MAY have been one based on the image between the numbers, mid late 1980s?
