Yeah mine is

Yr 7 - 9: Junior

Yr 10 - 12: Senior

Basically Year 10 is just the transition year lol

Just to make it even more confusing when I was at high school year 10 was basically junior but the back very last term of that year, they wanted all the year 10 students to do there tests and exams in senior conditions?

We even had a variation in school uniform. Juniors wore a light blue shirt and Seniors wore a white shirt.

Depends on the school, system and state.

DoE schools are supposed to be:

  • Primary (K–6)
  • Early Stage 1 - Kindergarten
  • Stage 1 - years 1 and 2
  • Stage 2 - years 3 and 4
  • Stage 3 - years 5 and 6
  • Secondary (7–10)
  • Stage 4 - years 7 and 8
  • Stage 5 - years 9 and 10
  • Senior/Stage 6 (11–12)

Typically a kid would change schools twice once for K-6 and 7 to 12, unless they’re in a central school, or move to a different school for 11-12.

Still very much the case. In fact, some high schools will use the same templates as the HSC for all the years, which isn’t a bad idea.

Most schools do exactly that. Not that students ever wear it correctly.

Back at my old High School, Juniors were Years 7-10 while Seniors were Years 11-12.

Yeah, I agree the only problem that happened with us was this was 2009, so it was swine flu year. They did all the prep as if it was senior then organised everything then two weeks before Christmas holidays were meant to start Schools were forced to shut in QLD. I believe they ended up doing practice exams in full exam settings the next year but this is a standard thing.

They are truly some awful names / awful spellings …

If one can be called Atlas, I daresay another kid will one day get called Mappy (a Bruce Gordon grandchild maybe!).

Your kid?

Could be Power, equally as brain dead.

A visit to the SA version of the naming office is in their future.

And how the parents of hurhmynie or Jaxsyn are not taken to the Human Rights Commission i have no idea. Those kids are going to spend every day of the rest of their lives having to correct everyone on their spelling of names.

Parents should be asked to explain their choice of name and spelling.

Laughed more than I should have at this

Sorry, couldn’t resist to post this, but when it comes to inappropriate/funny names, this comes to mind:
